Down Under Outdoors Extra-Thick Quilted Fleece Stadium Blanket: Waterproof and Windproof for Outdoor Use

SS: I bought this blanket for a festival I was going to so I could sit on the ground even if the ground wasn’t completely dry. It did very well being used that way, but where it really shined, for me, was when I was caught in a sudden downpour and used it to cover my wagon of outdoor chairs and other things I had with me. While I waited it out in my sunshade, I crossed my fingers it was really WATERPROOF. And I have to tell you, everything in that wagon was DRY. Not.one.drop. The water puddled and pooled but never soaked through to the other side. It cover that wagon for about two hours with downpour after downpour. I highly recommend and I will definitely be purchasing a second one.

Geof Sprague: I bought an air mattress that sits on a frame. The air flow on cold nights made it hard to be warm. Imagine laying in bed on a cold evening and your mattress staying just as cold as when you first climbed in, no matter how long you lay there.

My reasoning for purchasing this camping blanket was to be an air mattress topper that would prevent cold air flow and improve insulation. Our first full camping weekend was an absolute success! I think this could also work in a hammock.

Barker: Perfect for those windy, cold days at the ball field. An ordinary blanket would let the cold wind blow through, not this blanket! Light weight and easy to carry. Love the big strap on the carrying bag. Large enough for two people to sit under. In the hot months it's perfect for picnics or kids to sit on during ball games. Not to difficult to fold and get back into the carrying bag. Excellent "sports mom" purchase!

L.A.: I love these blankets and already own 2 of the plaid ones and just added a third. They're well made and the quilting prevents the slip you typically get with this style of waterproof ground blanket. In fact, if you're new to these kinds of blankets - don't ever buy one without quilting, it will drive you nuts. These DownUnders are lightweight but feel thick enough to add some fair cushioning and softness. I have a high-end $250 version from a well known brand and two cheaper (unquilted) ones and this feels solidly in the middle and is very fairly priced. I actually reach for these most often because of the lightweight factor. They're great for picnics, camping and outdoor activities. I also have one dedicated to my 12 yr old golden retriever that loves sitting on the porch or back deck, but the hard surfaces aren't great on her joints and this keeps her clean and nicely cushioned and dry in all kinds of weather, even when the ground is damp after the rain. These blankets also machine wash incredibly well and dry quickly in the sun for re-use. Excellent brand and quality! Mine still look like new even after heavy use and washing over the years.
