Douglas Bozeman's Comprehensive Guide to Black Bear Hunting

APosteriori: What’s not to like? Douglas teaches through stories and anecdotes. Frankly, thats a better way to learn and the retain the insights he shares. I mean, how much if the periodic table do you remember vs. Aesops fables? So to the other reviewer who complained about it rambling—You’ll remember a good story before you’ll remember a flowchart of steps. Great read, I recommend it!

Grant and Cristeen: Easy to read. Actually has real advice and tactics to help you notch your tag. I just wish Me. Boze was my neighbor... Then we could go hunting together all the time... But if your not his neighbor, like me, then at least you have his book and some solid advice.

Donald Draper: I live in western Washington, where the author did most of his hunts. He accurately describes conditions on tree farms--which are radically unlike other forests--and how to find bears there. I've spent much of the last few weeks scouting some of the same ground that he hunted, and now I can see bear sign that I ignored in decades of hunting blacktail deer and Roosevelt elk here.

Highly recommend.

Nat: Purchased this book last year and I enjoyed every minute of it. Very comprehensive guide and packed with a lot of great info. I reread the book and picked up lots more information that didn’t stick with me the first time around. It gave me the confidence I needed to get started and I was able to bag my first bear shortly after.

Robert Brown: I really enjoyed this book. Douglas Boze did a great job breaking down black bear hunting into the core topics. The book’s written concisely and in an easy to digest format. Not to mention he adds some really nice pictures within it’s chapters. Definitely going to be a book I refer back to for years to come.

brandon: "The Ultimate Guide to Black Bear Hunting" is a great way to learn about hunting black bears, or just learning about them in general. Extremely informative.
Douglas has broken down information methodically and offered alternatives to information that can be found elsewhere. Overall got 5 stars for me. Douglas Boze has an exceptional outlook and passion for bear hunting and teaching it to those that haven't experienced it.
Whether some may find it basic, intermediate, or advanced, I think you will learn information you never knew, by reading this book.

Michael Briand: Get the book. It covers all styles of hunting and very good rédaction of bear behaviour in certain settings.

Definitely worth it.

I have no life: I’ve never hunted black bears before but I’m looking to get into it so I needed a book with as much information as possible. This is that book. Lots of useful on and off the field information and a few helpful hunting stories in between.
