Justin: Everything came well packaged and even came a day early! The lil amp sucks so bad that I would like to insert a few bad words. Outside of that, this is my first guitar I’m just winging it and I’m glad I almost had a complete set up until the little amp went out after two days! Really discouraging! Luckily I remembered I could use my karaoke machine until I find a nice amp. I wish I would have gotten the DS 200 or whatever the next best thing is! For a few extra bucks the better features is always worth it for me in the long run. Anyways so far so good I’m not too down about my selection it plays and it’s still very nice for my first time also based on some YouTube reviews they think so as well. Hope this review helps someone! Enjoy!

Tim Stone: Kids have lots of interests, for a short time, and we often hope one will stick. My grandson had been fussing with a small acoustic guitar and trying to learn to play rifts. He kept it up for awhile, so on his birthday I gave him this kit. It was perfect. As others have noted, the guitar is solid, sounds good, and comes setup nicely.

He has several cousins who play instruments, so hopefully he will stick with it. At some point, the next step would be to upgrade to a more powerful amp. This is perfect for a beginner, but would reach it's limitations quickly.

TrustMe: I recently purchased the Donner DST-100T in Lake Blue, having already been impressed with the quality of my purchase of the Donner DST 125 guitar in Polar White. However, I must express my disappointment with this purchase. Firstly, the wrong color was shipped, which was disappointing. More concerning were the numerous fret sprouts on the guitar, causing discomfort while playing. The pickups were another issue, as they failed to work in the 2nd through 4th positions, significantly affecting the sound versatility.

Additionally, though minor, there were noticeable cosmetic flaws. While tuning the guitar was a straightforward process since you have to do it everyday, the combination of receiving the wrong color, fret sprouts, pickup malfunctions, and cosmetic imperfections has made me contemplate returning this product.

I had hoped for a similar positive experience as with my previous purchase of the Donner DST 125 guitar, but unfortunately, this purchase has left me dissatisfied with their quality control process.

Donner should have just sent the right color and checked the frets and pickups before shipping. I have contacted them about the negative issues but...

Mike: Played acoustic for a long time and getting into electric. After opening the kit, I checked the guitar out. It seems to be well built with no blemishes on the paint job. The clear coat seemed rushed and looked hazy but after a bit of elbow grease and polish, it was alright looking with no other faults to be seen right away without stripping the guitar down. The frets on the other hand are another matter altogether. The inlays are leveled and centered but the fret wires themselves are jagged and sharp and will definitely need sanding and buffing or this guitar will have a nice finger dinner. The tuning pegs seem tight and upon tuning have little to no sprocket play while tightening or loosening the awful stock strings. The strap sucks and the picks the come with the kit are pretty bad. Upon screwing the tremolo bar in, it does have some side to side wobble...not lots, but enough not to trust whether the whole bridge system will handle it. So, upon ordering, which I recommend, but an extra set of your preferred picks, and extra strap and extra strings. But come on, It's a budget guitar and donner misses the mark on a few things. It sounds okay on the supplied mini amp but way better...

John F. Fisher: I'm by no means a professional muscian. I played an acoustic guitar for years and decided I wanted to get an electric guitar, so I looked at multiple items here on Amazon. I'm sure a lot of people are looking at these beginner packages and I can tell you that after getting two of them, I have learned a lot.
First of all, the Donner package is really much better than the Lyx with the exception of the amp. The Gig bag is padded, and has backpack straps. The cable is much better, and has a velcro strap so you can pack it up. The strap is ok and the tuner is like all the others and probably all made in the same place. The guitar is very nice looking and this one has the HSS configuration which is great. The mini amp is cute but not very functional except to use at home. It definitely works and can produce some sound but not a lot and it's the kind that some people strap to their belt and play. The Lyx amp is an actual amp and is surprisingly good.
From reading the other reviews, it appears it is hit or miss whether you get one that has been set up. I did not. My first pick was the Lyx and it had a few issues, which I reviewed on that product so I sent it back and got the Donner....

Purtroppo, CON ENORME FASTIDIO, l'ho dovuta riconsegnare perchè la chitarra è arrivata usatissima (doveva essere nuova) e soprattutto mezza devastata: la corda 1 era spezzata ed era già stata utilizzata, senza successo, quella di riserva da un precedente acquirente. Inoltre mancava una molla e il manico vibrava troppo perchè si sta scollando.
INACCETTABILE
Tutti gli altri gadget invece erano in condizioni perfette.
L'ho riconsegnata dopo qualche giorno. I controlli Amazon dovrebbero essere un pò più seri, perchè va bene ricevere prodotti usati (ma anche no sinceramente), ma almeno abbiate la decenza di controllare che non ci sia nulla di rotto.. Capisco che la posso riconsegnare, ma non mi diverto a stare a casa ad aspettare il corriere.

Per questo motivo avrei messo 1 stella, ma la chitarra...

Cioè, è buona per chi comincia o per chi non ha pretese, come me. Probabilmente un professionista inorridisce di fronte a un prodotto del genere, ma è ovvio che il target è gente che sta cominciando. Insomma, è la prima...

BrockBrock: The guitar

Taking a chance on an unknown company can bring joy or sadness. Sometimes it’ll bring plenty of either, and on a rare occasion both. I’m happy to say that Donner is bringing joy with their Standard Series. Though I’ll be honest right off the bat; they saved money in the finish work. What I mean by that is there’s some small (I couldn’t even properly photograph them) blemishes in the wood, and a spot on the upper horn where something hit the finish at the factory (which is photographed). The wood blemishes are all small and what I like to think of as freckles. Personally I like it, a lot. The matching though, for what appears to be a 5-piece body is really, really good. Doing a sunburst on this cheap a guitar is a bold move and I’d say it’s executed better then I’d expect. Besides a few bits that are too small to warrant the cost of a refinish it’s done really well.

Of course the other cost-cutting area was in the fretwork. They’re sharp. Not unplayably so, and to be fair to Donner it’s a lot easier for a customer to file their frets (this should be included in a good professional setup anyway) than it is to say replace a shoddy input...
