Paul-Tampa: I get these because the filler is not too hard or too soft. The Sharpie china markers are way too soft. I like to put a fine wedge point on these to draw along a straight edge. The sharpie line goes thick right away, especially in summer. These hold the point longer and as a result, last longer than the Sharpie brand.

Nicole: First of all, I want to commend whoever makes these pencils for creating something that is almost impossible to rub off of a plant label. This is so important for those of us doing gardening outdoors. My biggest gripe with it is that when you're trying to peel off paper to reveal more of the pencil part, sometimes it can rip and you're stuck with a pencil that you need to either manually sharpen or throw away. If you can get past that part, they work very well.

Pat51: I am often on the go and carry a lot of fast food gift cards. I thought I was being clever carrying a crayon and writing the remaining balance on the cards after using so I wouldn't have to wrap each in its receipt to keep track, until it got hot and the crayon melted in the car. Now I carry a china marker and I can write the balance on the card and erase it with a tissue and update the remaining balance with no worry that I'll have a mess to clean up. A simple, silly luxury that makes life just a little easier!

Patti: I purchased these for classroom use and when trying to peel the paper back to reveal the wax crayon, the paper shreds or just doesn't peel. I have had to take a knife to cut the paper near the top in order to expose the crayon. Very frustrating when class time is so short as it is!

A W: I LOVE these things. They are seriously THE ONLY things I can use to completely cover up personal info on papers, shipping labels - even the GLOSSY ONES!!!! They were recommended to me by my pharmacy tech because it's what they use to hide personal info on returned pill bottles before tossing them out. I am telling everyone about this method! And yes, I even tried the roller ink thing that was supposedly made for glossy labels. it did not work. THESE DO and they're cheaper overall than the others methods!

Catherine: I use it for artwork, usually Newsprint paper, sometimes regular printer paper. On Newsprint sheets, the pencil works very smoothly, creating nice controlled lines. But if ever i want to sketch something quickly on regular paper, its hard to bring out the smoothness that you would normally get on newsprint and comes out pretty scratchy and rough. But since i mostly use the newsprint, im almost never disappointed in the quality of the pencil.
It can also be used to mark on windows, or wood pieces. These pencils have lots of different uses.
One thing that personally drives me nuts is that they can sometimes be difficult to peel if you dont rip from the notches on the pencil, that are barely visible. Either mark or cut the pencil at the notches so you can see them better, so that if youre in the middle of working and you need to peel the pencil quickly, you can pull the string to the notch and peel off the paper without trouble.

Overall, it has its ups and downs, but its of pretty decent quality. I would recommend it.
