jackie: Overall, I was somewhat disappointed with these mechanical grease pencils. While they had vibrant colors and worked well on paper, they did not write well on plastic and the crayon part tended to push in when too much pressure was applied. These issues made them less useful to me, especially considering I was unable to remove the writing from plastic surfaces even with strong cleaners. While they may be helpful for classroom teachers who need bright colors to show up on a projector, I don't think they are particularly practical for other uses.

Brian Propst: These markers won't write on a wet or damp surface. They will write on just about everything else. I chose the multicolor because I needed a bright marker and wasn't for sure which color would work. I was making measurements on dark wood and galvanized steel. I discovered the orange color worked best for my situation. While working with the galvanized steel is when I discovered that the markers would not work on damp or wet surfaces. But after I dried the surfaces the marker worked fine. I wouldn't recommend using these at a construction site if you are working in the rain.
