Stevie: Very difficult to see the dark blue numbers in a dark room. (Do not want to brighten the numbers as I like a dark bedroom.) Setting the projection time on the ceiling makes the room too bright, too. Operation of setting the time and alarms is not intuitive, but a manual is included. Radio is clear and good.

Gil_58: I purchased this because I wanted a good clock-radio that was better than the one I had. I was partially successful. This is a really good alarm clock, but a so-so radio. First of all, if sound quality is your primary goal, keep looking. The sound quality on this radio is awful. It's about what you would expect from a cheap radio. Tinny, garbled - awful for music, acceptable for talk radio. Also, tuning is a mixed bag. The radio has 30 presets and an auto-scan function that will lock in the first 30 stations that it finds. I live in Raleigh, NC, and I can't receive that many stations, so there are plenty of presets available. There are two problems with it - the auto-scan misses some stations that have strong signals, and you can't manually program stations. So if the auto-scan doesn't get the stations you want, you have no way to manually add them. You can move through the available stations by pressing a button, but it is a slow and tedious process. So, as a radio, this unit leaves much to be desired. However, I find the clock functions to be awesome, and it's the reason I kept this unit. Tōpha: When searching for a new clock radio for the nightstand, I found it to be more of a task than I originally anticipated. Such a mundane thing isn't it? It's something that we don't think of very often and it seems to be getting harder to find a quality clock radio these days. Well, after much reading and comparison, I found this one checked all the boxes for me. The display is big and bright. It does 24hr format. It has alarms and an fm radio. Even the projection feature is cool and I didn't even know that was a thing. Upon the arrival of my new nightstand centerpiece, I found some great features but also a couple of issues that could be addressed. The biggest issue for me is the controls aren't intuitive and are a bit confusing. There are few single dedicated function buttons, so there is a bit of trickery involved in setting up everything. You gotta hold this down, double tap that, do some combinations; it feels like playing Street Fighter on the ol Nintendo, but without the kicking butt and gloating. Dale R.: I awaken several times a night. When that happens, I want to know what time it is. Raising myself on one elbow and twisting to read my old bedside clock was aggravating my back spasms. Also, I had to fumble around for my glasses to read the small numerals, causing me to fully wake up and have difficulty falling back to sleep. I thought a projection clock would be a great solution to this problem, so I began the search.

Most projection clocks display and project red numerals. Since my neighbor’s house burned down in the middle of the night a few years ago, I find any red glow in my bedroom alarming, so I was glad to find this clock-radio that features numerals in blue, a soothing, restful color.

The overall size of this unit is smaller than I expected, which means it takes very little space on my nightstand. I didn’t choose this clock-radio for its curved face, but I must admit that it looks stylish. The control buttons are conveniently lined up along the top of the case and are clearly marked with easily understood icons.
