RckyMtnTJ: Bought it thinking it was lithium. My bad.

Works well enough.

Brings 18V tools back to life

Martin T.: Works great on an older trim saw, recip saw and a screw gun that uses the obsolete stem-type batteries.

Molson: This works well with my 18V drill, but as others have noted, the battery drains if you don't take it out of the adapter when you are not using the tool. That's the only downside, but it is no big deal to me.

Klintiam: I have the whole 18V Dewalt set and have been making due with the big, clunky batteries as I didn't want to toss everything and buy 20V. This attachment works great and the batteries are awesome.

Trey H.: I haven’t been able to obtain the original-style batteries for several years, so this was really nice to see. These particular batteries are admittedly not of high capacity, but work fine for my purposes; larger ones are available that are compatible with this charger to consider in the future.
Just like others report, the adapter fits the tools so tightly that removing it is not as quick and easy as one would like. It would be better to have an adapter on every tool and just change out the batteries (which slide on and off nicely). The LED “fuel gauge” function built into every better is very convenient.
>>>>>>> Do not forget to remove all the batteries from the tools during storage to prevent slow power drain. By doing this, a charged battery should always be ready and waiting.<<<<<<<

Stephen: I have quite a few DeWALT brand tools, both in 18v and 20v. The batteries on the 18v tools have all reached their end of life and would not hold a charge any longer, but the tools were still in great shape. I also find a lot of the 18v DeWALT tools in the RESTORE store (a Habitat for Humanity resale store like Goodwill) and will pick them up for around $5.
I have purchased the adapter in the past, but I found this set, 2 batteries and the adapter, on sale for $99. I ended up purchasing 2 of these! Here is my quick pros/cons list for those looking at purchasing the set:

Pros:
- Price: I picked this set up on sale for $99, which is, in my opinion, a steal! The adapter alone, at Home Depot, is $38.
- Extend tool life: Part of the reason I find so many 18v DeWALT tools in stores like RESTORE is due to the old battery failing and cost to replace. It is cheaper to replace the whole tool and get a new battery than it is to buy a replacement. If you already have some 20v tools, purchasing an adapter with more batteries will help to extend the usefulness of the 18v tool. I now have an impact, drill, and saw that I picked up for $5 each at the local RESTORE...

Barb B: Bought these to replace the original 18V batteries used in all of my cordless equipment. Worked great at first, lighter than original 18v. After awhile, batteries would only charge to 2/3. Contacted Black and Decker, and they immediately sent out 2 replacement batteries. Great customer service. Adapter is difficult to remove with battery inserted in adapter, but 20v batteries remove and install easily.

BABA: Bought this during Black Friday week (119cad). It was a nice price for the package and I didn’t have to buy knock offs. I doubt I would have purchased this at the current 179cad.
I have all of these from previous purchases and I thinking I could use two more 2AH batteries and at this price I decided to get the package as it was close to the price of the two batteries alone.

This arrived in a single plastic factory vacuum sealed package so it was not hobbled together by a vendor and nor was it old stock. The batteries have 2020 year stamp so I was quite pleased given the price.

Adapter
Basically I wanted another 18 to 20v adapter so I can just leave them on the two 18v tools I have not replaced. The original adapter can be difficult to remove as mentioned in many reviews however I found this one alittle easier some reason (my original has a 2016 year stamp and this one 2019).

2AH batteries
I am invested in 2 cordless tool lines Dewalt (20v and flexvolt) and Bosch 12V.
I like to size and weight of the Bosch 12V drill/drivers for most wood and DIY work and use the Dewalt versions for more HD tasks. I like using the 2AH batteries on...

Bubba: I wanted to upgrade my 18 volt XRP combo set to the 20 volt system because of the lithium batteries were more compact and hopefully they would last longer than a few years. Replacing the 18 volts every few years was not cheap and to keep buying new batteries I might as well invest into the 20 volt system and the the tools have built in lights also which is nice.

I thought about selling off my combo set to help pay for a new 20 volt combo set but couldn't find a comparable 20 volt set to my old 18 volt set. My old set had all the tools that I would use myself. The combo 20 volt sets had tools that I would have no or little use for. I tried to piece together a set to compare to what I currently have and it added up to a lot. I am a DIY guy and I do use my tools enough but not enough to justify spending a heap of money to replace them. So I decided to upgrade the battery system and crossed my fingers. Well I am happy I did and for about the same price of buying 18 volt ni-cad batteries I have 20 volt lithiums that hopfully will live longer and gives my tools a new life. If there wasn't a 20 volt conversion kit and I would have to stick with the 18 volt...
