I like the led power level gage a lot. The original DeWalt (NiCad) battery didn't have this. Just bought another one. L-ion is so much lighter than the old NiCads also. This claims to pack 6.5 AH, and I believe it comes pretty close.

One of the two batteries was dead and would not take a charge. Reported to seller and after asking a couple of reasonable questions, they immediately made it right. The second battery took a charge and thus far I've used it for about six solid hours in an impact driver removing about 20 lbs. of screws and breaking loose many bolts while dismantling a large assembly. I have not yet recharged the battery so am very impressed with the battery life.

I was excited to find Yabelle's offering of a Lithium 18v Dewalt compatible battery, and ordered one in late 2021. From the outset, it didn't quite work. Initial charging in the recommended Dewalt 9116 charger caused the battery's fuel gauge lights to illuminate constantly, and the red charge light to fail to illuminate at all until I removed and replaced the battery several times. Then, once it did charge all the way, its performance was unacceptably inconsistent in the tools I tried it with as well, including a 1/4" driver, and a flashlight. Power was not always available when switching on these units, and to get the battery to work, it would have to be removed and replaced several times again. Also, the fuel gauge would illuminate constantly when the battery was in the tool, draining power unnecessarily. In short, neither charging this battery nor tool use with it was as easy or consistent as it should be.
It seems like the battery's firmware could not match its ambitious promise of Lithium cells,, charging in a charger originally designed for Ni-Cd's, and the working with a fuel gauge that Dewalt itself did not implement until the 20v series of...
