Denon AVR-X1400H: 7.2-Channel Full 4K Ultra HD Network AV Receiver for Immersive Home Theater Experience

Mark White: I bought this receiver as a stand alone CD and Music Streaming Unit. As a result, I need to rely on WiFi for it to be able to stream Spotify. For the initials set up, I used my big screen and an ethernet cable to connect it to WiFi and then move it to it's location in the living room where my music collection is. When it works, it's fantastic! The HEOS app is easy to use. I can play my Spotify from anywhere in the house and it rocks! But....several weeks after the initial set up, it was no longer connected to the internet. So I had to drag it back into the TV room and set it up all over again. It took me a very long time as the directions are not straightforward. Then, for several more weeks it worked AMAZINGLY. It remained connected to WiFi and once again, my music was rocking! Then, a few weeks later, it disconnected from WiFi again. I'd possibly question my WiFi integrity, but we have many, many devices that do not have this issue. I've tried everything I know to connect it via the user interface on the receiver, but with each attempt, a "Connection Failed" message comes up. So now I'm faced with discconnecting it, and reconnecting it in my TV room, and...

Spence: Great product, sound quality, and price. The setup interface is much better than my last Onkyo.

I find the Alexa integration useful, but input switching does not work at all. Google and HomeKit integration are there too, but lagging far behind. I hope to see those improve over time. AirPlay seems to only work if it and the phone are both connected to the 2.4 GHz band. It only receives Bluetooth, does not transmit to other Bluetooth speakers.

When I first set it up, I could barely hear people speaking in movies, so I had to turn the "dialog" volume all the way up, but it sounds fine after doing that.

I liked the HDMI-CEC control for the most part, but it was turning my TV on for stupid things like streaming Internet radio, so I unfortunately ended up turning the feature off.

Amazon Customer: I did plenty of research for the best value for the money. I had an old Yamaha Avr that was 17 years old so I really wanted the latest technology. This Denon was a 2017 model at an excellent price for a 7.2 Atmos HDR, 4k system which I just bought 3 weeks ago Jan 2019. I have really enjoyed the system. I also bought on Amazon an awesome budget speaker system called Energy 5.1 classic take home it's a theater in a box system. Great reviews online (also reviews on Amazon ) and it sounds awesome! Much better than my old Bose 5.1 system costing 3 times more 17 years ago. This receiver pretty much has all the latest technology like 4k HDR video and a 2.2 HDMI connection for the latest 4k blu ray Dvd. It also has an ARC HDMI connection for the later model TVs but not the latest eARC connection. It's a 7.2 channel system so I can play music, wired as 2 channels in another room of my house, while having a 5.2 surround sound in my main room or I decided to do a seven speaker single subwoofer set up now 7.1. Since this system does the Atmos speaker setup I will add two ceiling speakers for the Atmos 3D surround sound experience if I can figure out a way of not upsetting...

Jerome: IN SHORT: Well packaged. Arrived quick. Easy to install. Has lots of connectivity. Great sound quality.

My previous Denon AVR-S910W, which I bought in 2015 on Amazon, suddenly decided to stop working. Everything looked OK but no sound was coming out on any speaker/subwoofer, and no image or sound through HDMI going to the TV. I contacted customer service several times and never got an answer. I hesitated before buying Denon again, but their product line is really incredible for the cost, especially if you buy the "previous" generation.

I am so far very happy with the product, I will update if it becomes a brick again... (crossing my fingers).

Dom V: work great and is a huge upgrade compare to my Denon 530bt as far as the multi eq and also audyssey has some great features just sucks you have to pay $29cnd for the app to fully use all the functions of it
runs a little hot at max volume i got a 160mm usb laptop fan stuck it ontop and plug the usb inot the denon and problem solved

other then that it work awesome dolby atmos on the xbox is awesome with the ps4 i only get 7.2 but thats only because the ps4 does not do atmos
i like the internet radio thats built in and i love that i can skip songs on my bluetooth from my phone with the remote on the receiver without going to my phone

Exzacklee: Cons:
-setup with tv is a little goofy.
-remote is huge for features on it
-hard to connect Alexa. Still haven’t figured out how.
-Bluetooth is skipping. Hope can figure out how to make it stop.
Pros:
-great price
-sounds great better than my Sony did.
-connects easily to wifi.
-does great job setting up sound. The mic comes with a nice tall stand for the setup.
-normal width fits in my cabinet.

And one more thing , for some reason , there was technical problem in the receiver and seller readily get it replaced free of cost

Debabrata Gupta: The receiver is a very powerful system and is able to feed high quality output to the speakers - which of course need to be designed for this kind of duty. This has a 7.2 capability which means that it can take 7 surround speakers.

Randall: I had been shopping for a receiver for a while and finally decided to get the AVRX1400H. I'm only about 6 weeks in with it but i can tell that this is going to be a great buy. Received the the box as scheduled and hookup was simple. Nice power to my speakers and the preset sound modes are nice. Still working out my set up. Very satisfied with the performance and the price. Bluetooth works well with Spotify. Also, downloaded the Denon app and find it to be very useful although the app doesn't have good reviews. I have much more to explore with this receiver but at this point, i can tell it is a good product.
I would definitely recommend this receiver and it is nice on the wallet.
