In fact, this was the only product found on my search. It was well protected and arrived quickly. I used a knife to punch out the openings for my filters. I have two filters that sit off of the side of the tank and the openings easily accommodated them. This light replaces two aquarium lights that were across my light without a hood. Hopefully the light is bright enough for my plants. Looking forward to less evaporation and time/water filling up the tank. Hopefully less lime deposits on the glass.

Tobi Watson: I didn't realize the bottom part was 2 24'' pieces- I thought it was one long 48" piece... managed to cut up the previous hood to make this very nice hood w/light work for the 55 gallon tank

EarthSpryte: So I'm just a beginner still learning and restocking a 55 gallon aquarium that was given to us with 2 flimsy solid glass tops that never even fit in the first place. Was leary to purchase something like this without handling it first... OMG I absolutely LOVE this cover! First of all, the shipping was disappointing when it was estimated to be over a month since purchase date, but this was all I could find that seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. To my awesome surprise, this cover came in late last night - like a month early! Excited and surprised, I opened the box and began assembling which took may 5 minutes. IT FITS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! So here's what is just slightly less than perfect... The light sits on top and wiggles a little. I plan to place some sort of small anything on each side and it should hold in place. Simple fix. The "easy punch outs" do punch out manually, but then left small hard broken pieces sticking off. So on the second one, I used a small kitchen knife to break them and gently shaved off the broken pieces and PERFECTION! I must say thought that those are 2 tiny minor issues that are simple easy remedy. The fit is absolutely perfect and the light is...

Jon: This is a 3 part "hood" for an aquarium that has a divider in the middle. I bought this for my 55 gallon tank that has no divider, thinking it would work. Some of the reviews I read were quite unclear. I have to set the bottom two pieces on a piece of glass that spans the length of my tank. In the future I will try to get a strong enough piece of plastic to go across the center of my tank from front to back so that the 2 bottom pieces can rest on it. I have a piece calked in that spot now to cover the hole that remains between the two bottom pieces because if you don't have the divider there is a gap of about 1 inch between the two sections. Each of the bottom pieces have a window to let light through, cutouts at the back for filters etc., and an access flap in front. They measure 11 1/4 inch deep and 23 inches long. (THESE PIECES COME IN THE BOX TAPED TOGETHER TO KEEP THEM FROM SLIDING AROUND BUT THEY DO NOT REMAIN TOGETHER, you MUST have a way of supporting them at the center of your tank.) The light sits atop the aquarium rim meaning it extends the entire length of the tank, not just the length of the 2 bottom "insert" pieces. If I had bought these for my newer aquarium that...

Kelly: I will be returning the item for a number of reasons.
I read a number of reviews on this item saying they received 4 additional lights in case one was damaged in shipment. I DID NOT receive extras and the one in the hood would not turn on.
I got this *Aqueon* hood for my *Aqueon* 75 gallon. The tank and hood both measure 48 inches, but the hood does not fit the lip of the tank as it should. It seems the center brace gets in the way (?) causing it to sit on top. Should be no different than the fit on a 55, but it is 🤬
It is not wide enough to cover the tank either. It is 6 inches (if not more) too short. Water will still evaporate or splash out. I got this product to avoid those problems.
The price for this item fluctuates like none other. I initially put it in my cart at $115. I let the idea simmer for a day or two. When I returned to purchase, it was $157. I brought this to Amazon's attention, they said it could be fixed after the item's arrival. After speaking with Amazon, I decided to buy it. Lo and behold, the price was now $176.
Long story short - do not get it for an Aqueon 75 gallon! It sucks.
