Chris_hotmail: The clamps are lightweight but very strong, enabling our bikes’ front forks to be firmly attached to plywood sheets when carrying them vertically in the back of our car.

Good cost saver if you have your own lock.
Works well, just as sturdy as the expensive one!

Jay Lucier: These hitch anchors worked great for a 7 bike trailer carrier I built for a 8’ x 4’ utility trailer. Our bikes stayed secured in the solid steel, secure clamps, and steel locks. The anchors keep our bikes from rubbing together and damaging each other while travelling. Looking forward to using our hitch anchor trailer again in the future.

ARCAARCA:

I like it, it is high quality, and it does lock. Main thing: super easy to install, super sturdy, rust proof and cost less than twenty bucks. It does hold the bike very well. Once locked, the bike is hitched solid, not going anywhere, at any speed, or any turn….I tried. Very easy to take the bike on and off the hitch in a minute or 2, and you can have four of these mounted on the rail in the back of the truck bed, easily carrying 4 bikes at the same time, without any bike moving or touching the other.
No, I would not leave my composite road bike in the bed of the truck unattended, for more than 5-10 minutes in a public place. This is true with any bike carrier, nothing is 100% theft proof, not even inside a locked garage: somebody can cut open a typical aluminum garage door panel (with a pocket knife) to access the garage and steel the bike, if they really wanted to. I used big SS screws to mount the hitch to the back rail of the bed. I also used industrial epoxy on the screw shaft, and on top of the screw head, so it cannot be removed. You can also use epoxy on the nut, but not necessary if you have it tight enough. In fact, it is not easy at...

Two of these, plus a few nuts and bolts, and a piece of wood, and you can make yourself a bike rack for way less than any car bike rack on the market today. Just bought two of these, a common pine board 10" wide, cut to the width of our truck bed, mount these to the board, then attach to the truck with a few bolts and voila...bike rack! What I love about these fork mounts is that it tucks the bikes below the top of the truck roof, so we keep the bikes out of the wind and elements. Also much better for the aerodynamics of the vehicle. If you own a truck, it's the cheapest and best way to make a bike rack.
The item itself is very nicely thick aluminum. I've had no issues with the closure mechanism, and the ones we received had a short piece of webbing on the QR to help open it up. As far as other reviewers talking about the locking aspect being useless, it is true that one can theoretically unscrew the opposite side of the mount and remove the bike, but there is some kind of bushing or o-ring which makes that side more difficult to turn, even when free. Plus, when properly tightened, the tension makes the smooth nut very hard to turn. I guess if a...

We have two bikes that we move around from time to time and we were laying them on their sides (on top of one another) in the back of the F-150. It was a little crazy to say the least when trying to remove them with peddles, spokes and gears sometimes intertwined. So I thought for a fork holder. I looked at several solutions and decided on this one for I have a truck box and didn't want to spend that much on solving this problem.
Well when they showed up they were bigger and strong than I thought. No hardware was included, but that was fine with me, for I went out and bought some stainless 1/4" bolts and lock nuts for installation on the back of the truck box. I didn't want anything to rust and I believe most if not all of the components of this product are aluminum or some other type of alloy.
They installed without any problem and worked great for two different types of bikes. It has an adjustment nut on the left side to adjust the compression on the lever when engaged. I got locks for them and I tried to pull one of the bikes out to see how strong it was. It didn't give at all.
I am very pleased with the quality and construction and...

J. Fleming: This mount worked very well for my application. It was easy to install into the Utility track of a Nissan Titan using some Uni-Strut Spring Nuts washers and other stainless hardware. The lock mechanism is ok I suppose, you have to tighten the adjustment thumb screw then push the latch closed tightly. This makes the adjustment nut nearly impossible to loosen by hand. However with a tool, I'm pretty sure you would be able to loosen the adjustment nut even when tightened. But, the way I see it, the mount could easily be unbolted from the truck anyways with the right tool. I think they are good mounts if you don't always have to lock your bikes, if you insist in locking them all the time you may want to look elsewhere due to the difficulty in unlatching the locking mechanism once you tighten it up securely enough that the adjustment nut cannot be moved by hand. Understand that this is sort of a friction / tension style lock. If you're just looking for a theft deterrent, and will only occasionally need to lock the bikes, they are good mounts for the money. I still gave them 5 star rating for the value, but know what you are purchasing.
