Carlos: It works perfectly, when I first turn it on the computer was slow, but when I uninstalled McAfee and Google drive it become faster!.

It uses 2 DVD to create a factory backup. So I create 2 DVD from the built in drive and 2 DVD from my Lite on external drive.

What it really amazed me is how compatible with Linux.

I have tested Ubuntu , Mint , Backbox ; GNU Trisquel. It works without any problem. (I can use the webcam, wireless card, sound card, function button (adjust Brigthness, Volume level). I own many Toshiba which is not as compatible.

I had been considering thinkpenguin laptop, but for a while I will use this laptop to test :>) .

To use Linux you have to disable secure-boot and set the bootloader on the BIOS setup to the appropriate bootloader, some Linux must set the BIOS mode CSM instead of UEFI. Use F2 to enter setup and F12 to boot from any bootable media (USB flash, DVD drive, etc).

I only had a problem after I formatted the hard disk to install Linux. I used the recovery DVD with the built in disk drive to restore to factory, its fails when it ask the second disc, it stuck on 51% of the recovery process. I...

Kindle Customer: This Dell computer is an upgrade from the one I have been using for two years. I bought a refurbished item and it was perfect except for a loose key, for which TECH FOR LESS gave me the options of having it fixed, exchanging it, or returning it for credit to TECH FOR LESS COMPANY. They sell refurbished items. I chose to return it as at that time they did not have another item that I wanted.

I did my business regarding the return with ANASTASIA and she was wonderful to work with. I got sick in the middle of the return and she was very understanding and continued to assist me until I got a friend to get the laptop packed up and back to UPS for its return to TECH FOR LESS. Customer service with this company is all about what is best for the consumer, very cooperative, understanding and all things good! At no time was I made to feel guilty or pushed to keep the computer - which did happen to me with another company.

Regarding the Inspiron Laptops, I have had 3. They are light, powerful with the right ram supply (8), and very attractive. Despite being most elegant to look at, they can take a lot of bumps without ill effect. They are real...

woodworker: I didn't want to write a review on this laptop until I had a chance to use it for a while. It has been a little over a month and I feel I can be fair now. First, it came with Windows 8.1, and my last computer had Windows Vista Home Premium (I went from one unpopular OS to another). It took me a while to learn how to get around, and to use a touch screen if I wanted. I have decided I like it pretty well, I use a mix of keyboard, mouse and touch. I heard a rumor that Microsoft will provide free upgrades to Windows 10 when that comes out, but who knows? There are some small gripes with this OS, but by and large it is good. Instead of a start menu you have a configurable start page, not really hard to grasp for me. You can't resize some of the app windows, a fault I don't mind much. I had to watch a couple or three tutorial videos first to find how to do some basic things, but it wasn't a major adjustment.
The laptop itself- I really like the sharp display, I am coming from a desktop with a larger monitor, but this still seems generously sized. I like having a numeral key pad, I find it much easier to enter numbers when using a spread sheet or even...
