Deliciously Sweet Chocolate Chip Granola Bars from MadeGood

Michelle: These snacks are baked in "a dedicated peanut and tree nut free facility." With my son's allergies, these snacks are a great option. They are packed with healthy ingredients and he likes them. When kids have multiple food allergies, it can be a struggle to help them have a varied, healthy diet. These bars help me to feed my son healthy food that he says tastes good.

Carolina: My husband and I love these and so we were happy to see Amazon had a box vs a small pack from the store. If you're looking for large bars, these are more of a true size for a portion.

Scott: I've always struggled to find a breakfast food that was both convenient and enjoyable, and when I didn't spend the time to have that first meal my stomach would typically remind me. I've recently been trying to get into granola bars as hassle free way to put something in my stomach to carry me through the morning. Problem was, when I ate certain granola bars for breakfast, I found myself with heartburn by the end of the day.

Then I came across a variety pack of Made Good granola mini clusters. I liked their short ingredient list, and the lack of additives, so I ordered them and really enjoyed their mixed berry (the chocolate chip gave me heartburn). I was looking for a box with just mixed berry and ended up with these bars, which are even more chewy and flavorful than the clusters.

While they are a little bit on the small side, and the bar is very tightly wrapped, resulting in my fingers occasionally getting a little sticky, these have become my go-to breakfast during the week, a quick, delicious snack I can grab and and eat on the go.

CT ChickletCT Chicklet: When I sampled this brand’s mini choc chip cookies at our local co-op, I LOVED them! When I saw on Amazon that they offered a similar treat in bar form, I ordered a bunch. Such a disappointment. The bars are a lot sweeter and contain very few chocolate chips so I can hardly detect the taste of dark chocolate as I could when enjoying one of their (relatively) nutritious little cookies.

One bag of their similar cookies weighs the same as one of these bars, but the bars are very different in taste and texture. Too sticky and too sweet for my taste. Plus, they are very small (to make them just 100 calories, no doubt), and their wrapper is so tight that I find them difficult to open. It’s a real effort to peel back the wrapper to eat it! Much more troubling, though, is that their normal-looking, very strong plastic wrapper is lined with a very delicate, separate layer of ultra-thin, almost invisible plastic that I think can be seen in my photo.

I’ve never noticed this before when opening many different protein bars. They are not sticky like this bar is, however, and that may be why this extra layer of thin plastic was added in this case. Although I don’t want to...
