Will: While this series has its issues, it's also got its strong points and I find that it's weaknesses don't detract from my enjoyment for the most part.

Positives:
-the worldbuilding (not apparent much in this first book but greatly expands as the series continues)
-the detailed progression/cultivation system (starts LitRPG-heavy with quantified stats and such but later expands into multiple types of cultivation. It's much more detailed than most of the other series in the genre)
-the writing (NOT only a positive, but what it does well besides worldbuilding is that a certain gravitas and epicness is sometimes present in the writing. I'm mostly thinking of certain events that take place later in the series. The author "can" be very good at foreshadowing. It also has a certain sense of humor that appeals to me. It's slight and subtle, dark, and a bit sarcastic at times).
-the main character appeals to me (unpopular opinion maybe, but I like his aggressiveness and directness. He has morals but can also be ruthless which is fitting to the ruthless multiverse that he finds himself in. He isn't much of a planner most of the time, but he doesn't typically make dumb...

Jonathan Kelley: Very interesting book! It’s going some where I’m interested to find out how it progresses I do recommend reading though it’s very nice

Kindle Customer: This is a great beginning for an interesting twist on a cultivation/system apocalypse story. I am looking forward to the next book!

Kindle Customer: This is my second reading of the series, and it is nice to refresh my memory of how it all started.

Kindle Customer: As an avid LitRPG reader starting with the pandemic, I've hit quite a few series so far. This one started in a typical manner (as is mentioned in other reviews here), not providing any special draw. I planned to finish it, then go re-read another series since the starting plot just left me thinking of that more enjoyable one. By the end, I have now become ready to pull up book 2!

So, it's worth the read. Nothing wrong with it, and I love that so far harems have been avoided. There are betters out there, so my top 3 series have remained well in place. I don't know how appropriate it is to mention them here, so I won't. But know there is one with a similar "earth becomes yet another world in an RPG multiverse", with much more humor, character, and pacing. And another "Protagonist gets sucked into another world" with even more humor and a great skill/progression system. So enjoy, and keep exploring!

Amazon Customer: I've never read anything by this author and picked up this series after seeing how many books were already released; very important to me nowadays as I keep hitting the end of other series I really enjoy and get stuck waiting for the author to complete writing the next installment.

No such problem here as there are nearly a dozen installments already published. Plus, this first book was nearly 800 pages. It is the typical LitRPG where the storyline starts off with earth being forcefully and suddenly integrated into the "multiverse" and the MC having to learn all about the magic and leveling system in order to grow strong enough to find his family and defend himself.

Thr plot might be standard but the writer throws in plenty of interesting bits like the primary invaders being demons and the MC choosing to wield an axe rather than the traditional sword. The only problem is that the MC is a bit of a whiner at first and nothjng much happens except a lot of grinding so stick with it. The action starts around the second half when he leaves his immediate surroundings full of low level mobs to engage the invaders.

From there it only gets more interesting as he...

Tommy Le: I bought this book a few months ago and it was fun. It came in a decent conditions. The corners of the book were little bit damaged. I started reading it and the start was pretty awesome with the multiverse concept. In the middle around the 100-300 chapter mark. It went pretty downhill. The concept was still neat and amazing same with how things were progressing. The thing that annoys me in this book, there are so many plot armor moments. For example: the mc is getting in a tough situation or dangerous situation and he is about to die or something is about to happen to him and oooo the mc just survived it. It's not like 1-2 but it's way more than that and if you know that there's gonna be a plot armor every time it makes the book boring.
