Mary Maz C: I laughed out loud many times... I love how refreshingly honest she is... Eg. about new motherhood... and that scene of her & the family at the park... So real, and humorously relatable. I also enjoyed how she pulls back the curtain of what it's like to be a stand-up comedian (the good, bad, and the ugly). Having a section from her hubby at the end was a bonus, it was great to hear his perspective too.... Ali Wong is a unique person, and her radical honesty & open expression about her life is raw & inspiring - Thank you!

Jen: This is not a book for kids. It is interesting and hilarious if you’re not easily offended. Ali Wong is one of my favorites and her book was no exception. I laughed out loud.

Peggy Sue: Honestly, if I was Ali Wong, I would want my daughters to wait WAY longer before reading this book, because the tales of her life are wild! But I really cracked up all the way through, and it was a real page turner. I feel a little bit like she has already judged me as a person for ever having been to a P.F. Chang's, but she's so honest and real, it felt very cool.

Judith Mimi: I’d say some parts were uninteresting because I wasn’t interested in some of the family stories. They seemed to be a filler for the book but to be fair, the book is a letter to her daughters so I can understand why she included that. Overall nice book, gave me a some laughs and definitely could hear her voice in my hear while reading those lines!

África: I laughed/cried all the way through the book, and found myself in her stories as I always do with her shows. Definitely would read again.

Mrs Zombie: Anyone that has left a negative review for Dear Girls has obviously no idea who Ali Wong is. The book is true to her style of comedy but also includes some heart felt sentiment. Maybe it's her honesty people can't deal with, but if you've seen any of Ali's stand up shows, you will love this book, trust me. Ali rules!

A Ahmad: I needed something light to read hence chose this book even though Ali Wong isn’t a particular favourite comedian of mine. I mostly enjoyed reading her journey as an Asian American and how proud she is being Asian while holding on very much to her American identity too. I particularly liked that her husband also had a chapter giving a full picture of Ali and her family. Enjoyable read eventhough there were some passages that meandered.

raineypants: Good laughs and quick read. Perfect for parents too tired these days to read. I did find it a little crass, especially at the beginning, but still kept reading.

Lilly Tong: Ali Wong's humor not only translates on stage but also in her memoir. Her memoir is filled with hilarious anecdotes and even more convulsion-inducing commentaries and asides, but along with each story Ali offers valuable advice to aspiring young creatives, and young people in general who are pursuing their dreams. Ali Wong discusses her wondrous life trajectory leading to her current success, all the bumps in the road, and more importantly her dedication to her craft. I highly recommend this book, especially to young women.

Amazon Customer: I read this a few years ago for a work book club and we all had a lot of laughs.
I’ve started buying copies for my friends to celebrate their first pregnancies and so far it’s made a great gift!
