T: I'm new at making my own espresso and all the drinks that include it. I mostly blame myself for being a newbie, but it seems that the milk frother isn't the best quality comparatively. It doesn't shoot steam out consistently and I think that contributes to lesser quality milk texture. I do also experience leaking from the espresso part when I am running the frother just like in previous reviews, but its very minimal and not a worry for me personally. It's compact which is so nice because this is going to be a permanent counter appliance.

Overall I am happy with this purchase that got me into the espresso game. This is a great device for learning or if your not too picky and just want to be caffinated with something slightly fancier than a regular cup of coffee.

Old Foodie: I have had a drip coffee machine that does a credible job taste-wise but…I took the 2 scoops of my favourite finely ground coffee which I use to make 6-7 ounce coffee in my machine over to my son’s mid-range espresso machine with built-in grinder. He made me my usual 6-7 ounce and the taste was superior to my drip machine. I bought the DeLonghi 3420 on Black Friday deal and the taste was …no better than my drip and little crema. There was water on top of tampered-down coffee when I removed the basket holder arm for cleaning. I even bought some beans I ground myself to regular (not fine) grind in a commercial grinder of a store offering self-service. I did it because one review here suggested this ‘entry-level’ machine gives better results with regular grind size. The taste of this coarser grind was deplorable and diluted. I was ready to return the machine. I tried one more time but grabbing machine with one hand I tightened the arm holding the pressure coffee basket more, counterclockwise past the midline pointing towards me. Now the crema was there and so was the taste. As good as my son’s machine? Very close or the same, too hard to tell, but this machine a fraction...

Felipe: Hace tiempo que buscaba una cafetera para esspreso y capuchino, esta es la tercera que compro, las demás fallaron muy pronto.
Se usa de diariamente y después de varios días noto que funciona muy bien, el hecho de que la mayor parte de las piezas sean de acero inoxidable es una gran ventaja.

デーヴtaxi: デロンギのエスプレッソマシンは以前から欲しかったのですが、お値段も張るので中々買えませんでしたが、初孫が誕生したので思い切ってポチっとやりました。海外発送の為時間がかかるのは覚悟していましたが、梱包が。。本体が入っていた箱が色あせ＆ボロボロ＆ほこりまみれと、中を確認するまで中古品が送られてきたかと心配になりました。結局マシンは新品で動作不良は有りませんでした。あの状態では店頭販売はできないレベルでした。

Peter OliveiraPeter Oliveira: I am a college student who works as a barista and absolutely loves coffee and espresso. When I first saw this machine at Target, it immediately caught my eye. If you are in a tough financial situation like many college students are, or if you are looking for a beginner machine that won't cost an arm and a leg, this would definitely be the one. Although this doesn't have a barometer, for the price point you can't really complain, especially since it has a pretty good steam wand.

First, I'll get the leaking issue out of the way. The original unit I received did have the same issue many other reviewer's did in that it was just leaking a ton of water on my counter. Once I did a return and exchanged it for a same unit though, I noticed the issue was gone. I'm not sure what kind of quality control issues Delonghi is having, but I hope they get it fixed as soon as possible.

Next, I'll get the cons out of the way. Since this doesn't have a barometer, you have to kinda just put your trust in the machine and simply taste and experiment as you go until you find the proper grind consistency for a good, layered, shot. Katie: **** UPDATE AFTER 4 YEARS OF USE****
Well it's May 2020 now, and I purchased this machine back in 2016. It has now been through 2 apartment moves, and STILL works like a dream... but recently it developed an inconsistent leak. I've woken up twice now to it having leaked on the countertop overnight. Not too much, and it hasn't done it every night. But still enough to be worried I'll someday have to replace it. For $100 or so dollars though, and especially after being used almost every single day for 4 years, this machine has STILL been one of the best and most reliable things I have ever purchased in my life.
I still have to get my coffee beans ground at 1 notch more corse than espresso, however I've had a trusty coffee/spice grinder that gets a perfect grind every time (and its also cheap and over 8 years old).
I'm pretty sure my last move (across 3 states) was the reason it has now started to leak, and I'm sad that I will one day have to part with it... but I'm writing this review because I truly just can't recommend this product enough. Just MeJust Me: While the Delonghi Stainless Steel 15 Bar Pump Espresso and Cappuccino maker is a nice looking machine and makes a great coffee it also has some faults.

My apologies up front for the extended review, I wanted to make sure you received enough information to make an informed decision by providing more than just the specs or what's included in the box.

This machine looks good with its primarily stainless steel exterior, over all fit and finish is well done. For functionality, the controls are laid out in a way that makes using it simple and don't detract from the look.

We followed the suggested routine for set up and found that we did get particles coming out the machine for the first three or four minutes. Yes, we always let cleaning processes run longer than suggested.

The front facing top panel holds the main control knob plus the power on and ready indicator lights. The lights offer simplistic information. The red light indicates the machine is turned on and the green light lets you know when the machine has reached the required temperature for making coffee.
