subwaytile: Perfect size for me. Easy to use. Makes white rice the way I like it. Perfect every time. Can’t vouch for the other grains it cooks. Has a warm function but as far as I can tell it doesn’t turn itself off if you forget about it or ring to let you know it’s done. Saves on counter space.

HereIgo: If you're cooking jasmine rice, rinse it to avoid foaming. Don't use the lines in the pan. Use a ratio of 1 (rice) to 1.5 (water) (for Jasmine).
I use the the supplied cup to measure both the water & the rice. So for 80ml of rice, measure 120 ml of water. Turn it off when it switches to warm (after about 20 minutes) unless you want it crisp on the bottom. You will have pretty decent rice. No matter what rice you use, follow the ratios on your rice bag & used the supplied cup for both the rice & the water. Using the same cup for both keeps your ratios accurate.

The warmer isn't worth much for rice. It might be okay for soup or something - haven't tried it for that. But I wish it had a beeper to let you know when it's done. The click is easy to miss if you're not in the same room. At least the warmer light lets you know it's finished.
It's simple & quick to clean. I just washed it in the sink. Being nonstick, it took less than 2 minutes to do the pan, the paddle & the lid. I don't remember if it's dishwasher safe or not, but it's so easy to wash by hand, I won't bother.

We had planned to keep it in the rv - but will buy another for the house.
Directions are a little "ify" as to time to cook -- but once we started to use it, we were very impressed!! Up to 2 cups of rice -- comes out fluffy, and perfectly cooked. Easy - and no checking & stirring. The pot is NOT PLASTIC - it is a non stick metal. So easy to throw in the rice, and do other things. It will be ready when you are !!

a viewer: This little cooker would be helpful if you don't have a stove cooktop available, as it does boil liquids to cook some things, in small amounts. For cooking rice you definitely have to get your rice-to-water proportions just right, which took some trial and error even following the directions to a tee. I used the directions for white rice on page 13 the first few times but the rice was overcooked mush and had begun to stick before the cooker switched from Cook to Warm. I finally got better results by watching it and unplugging it while it was still on Cook when I heard it start to sizzle and stick, although that defeated the purpose of using a rice cooker. The last batch of rice finally turned out well without any intervention; I used 1/2 Dash scoop of jasmine rice and 3/4 Dash scoop of water, but I did not rinse the rice that time. I think the amount of water must need to be reduced if you rinse the rice as directed, or else it overcooks.

The included Dash scoop holds 6 fl. oz., or 3/4 of a standard 8-oz measuring cup. The cooker held 1 Dash scoop of rice and the added water to just below the "1" line on the pot (water added after the rice had been put in) as per page 13....

Kristopher: I love rice, but have never mastered how to cook it in a pot the "normal" way. I've had multiple people show me how and tell me it's so easy to cook rice in a regular pot, but we clearly have different definitionns of "easy," or I just have some secret skill that makes me fail at cooking rice in a pot. I resorted to the boil-in-a-bag kind of rice because that was the only way I could get it cooked properly, without it burnt to the bottom and crunchy and the mushy in other spots.

Then, enter this rice maker. I followed their instructions and filled their measuring cup with rice up to the line, added it to the pot with some salt, and then filled their measuring cup all the way with water, dumped it in, and pressed the "cook" button. (I did not rinse the rice; no one in my family does and I had no idea it was even a thing. Its never affected how my rice cooks, so I don't intend to start doing so either.

I did expect it to take less time initially...not sure why), but when it did flip from "cook" to "warm" and I checked the rice, it was done perfectly. Nothing burned to the pan, no mushy spots, just fully cooked, delicious rice. I've followed the same procedure every...
