Dash 4-Square Waffle Maker - Make Delicious Belgian Waffles Quickly and Easily!

Kindle Customer: I purchased this waffle iron during Amazon's Black Friday shopping deals. Deals were only offered for the gray ones, which I was pleasantly surprised at how attractive the appliance was when I opened it. This waffle maker made beautiful, browned waffles that were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. A red light comes on while the iron is heating, then the light switches to green when the appliance is ready. Pour in your waffle batter, lower the lid, wait for the light to turn green, and your waffle is done. There is no temperature control for this waffle maker which is typical for a Dash appliance. We like our waffles a little crispier, so I left the lid down longer. All I used was Great Value Complete Pancake and Waffle mix made to package directions. I oiled the iron using standard cooking oil and a silicone pastry brush as suggested in the waffle iron's directions, and had no problem with the waffle sticking to the lid or the bottom. As usual with Dash appliances (of which I have several) the packaging was outstanding and was almost like opening a gift within a gift. This makes giving and receiving a Dash appliance a real pleasure -- at least I think so! I do recommend...

Lyndsay Wilderson: I bought this because my children were eating frozen waffles every morning and the price just kept going up, so I wanted to be able to make my own and freeze for the week. I love that I'm not making 1 waffle at a time and they're pretty good sized waffles. They're bigger and thicker than eggos. The only thing I would love to see different is for the plates to come off for washing it. I would definitely recommend it.

Felipe: After several uses we really like this waffle maker. Waffles come out great every time. It heats up quickly and the light goes green when they are done or pretty close to it. The two negatives is that it is large, but it does make four waffles and has the drip trays, and the other is that the plasticky cover seems somewhat cheap. But the cover is not too hot to handle and it's easy to clean. Instructions are very good and it includes recipes... some interesting ones.

Karenv: I was using the smaller Dash individual waffle makers and was making and freezing so many waffles that it took forever. This larger one is much easier and takes me half the time to make a quantity to freeze. I really, really like the “no drip” side channels as I don’t have to worry about that aspect of it. No drip, no mess. I use olive oil brushed on the plates between fillings and it gives a nice little delicate crispness to the waffles. I’ve been using this waffle iron for a few months now and haven’t had any problems at all. The only downsides I can think of is that it’ll be really warm using it in the summer and it’s size is rather large—it doesn’t store vertically. It’s a simple machine with only “on” and “off” lights—nothing fancy.

Vincenzo Melandri: Easy enough to use, there are no controls, just plug it in.
Makes truly great waffles. Tried a few different recipes, savory, sweet, chocolaty, they all came out phenomenal.

That said, only 4 stars as I wish the plates were removal for ease of cleaning.

But if you want an iron that makes 4 good regular size waffles at a time and you don't want break the bank, this is it.

Northern lightNorthern light: So first why 4 stars not 5. The first came damaged with a crack like others experienced
Amazon delivered a new one in perfect condition the next day which is awesome customer service but one star off for quality control issues/extra work I need to do to return it.
If it wasn’t for that I would give give it 5 stars - it performs !!

First the non stick is AMAZING. I didn’t put any oil in it before cooking and zero sticking. Waffles lifted right out.

It heated up ready to cook in 2 minutes. It cooked two batches without needing to wait for it to come back to temp. Every 2 batches I waited 30 seconds to a minute for the green light.
Waffles cooked for 4 minutes.

Having never made waffles I kept it simple and used Bobs red mill whole wheat buttermilk pancake/waffle mix. The bag only gives info for mixing pancake batter which is odd. I did a little research and this is the recipe I used
1 cup of the bobs mix
2 eggs straight from fridge
2 Tablespoons melted cooled unsalted butter
3/4 cup cows milk ( supposed to make them fluffier vs using water )
wisked it together with a hand wisk not an electric mixer

Heated the iron with lid...
