Thomas H Johnson: These are shorter than the plastic knobs that I removed but will probably last longer. I've gone through a bunch of plastic knobs that end of stripping no matter how much you tighten the knob.

red1blue2: Ok, these are too long for the shower I intended to use them in. My fault.. They are metal though as opposed to the plastic ones which stripped on the inside. Anyway, they will fit another shower so I'll keep them so I have them when needed.
