Gamelin61: It’s a nice small freezer, perfect for a couple rather than a large family. The door is rather heavy and will slam if you don’t hold onto it as you’re closing it.

Matthew G.: Pretty much what I expected - it's a big white box that keeps my food frozen. The noise and condition were my biggest concerns before ordering it and I have no issues with the product in that regard. It makes some noise as you would expect but quieter than my eight-year old fridge/freezer. If I look carefully I can find some very minor nitpicks regarding the condition but at the same time, it isn't exactly a show piece to begin with. At the end of the day it does the job and is reasonably priced especially considering shipping was free.

S&B: The media could not be loaded.    Beautiful little freezer, light enough to be moved by one person, around 28 kg and a capacity of 156 liters (5.5 fᶾ). its dimensions are 32 7/16 (82.4 cm) wide by 33 1/16 (84 cm) high and 22 3/16 (56.4 cm) deep, careful and modern finish.

Its interior is finished aluminum and the surface is easy to clean. It contains a basket and a division both removable.
Interestingly, it has a manual control for temperature and possibly extinct without being disconnected to defrost. The vessel contains a plug to allow easy drainage.

K. Kalvelage: I was hestitant to buy this considering the number of people that said their freezer was damaged. I took a chance. My freezer arrived with no damage to the body. There are plastic, decorative covers on the hinges and one was slightly damaged. Considering this will be sitting in my basement, I was not concerned. The freezer took quite awhile to reach temperature even when empty. I love the extra divider so I can keep "my" food separated from my dog's food. The basket is handy as well. This freezer is a perfect size to store some items for me but mostly raw meat for my dog. The back "legs" are wheels and front legs are adjustable for leveling. I have mine on 2x6s to keep off the wet floor. So far it is working great.

Update: I've had this freezer for a month short of 2 years. Has run with no issues until recently. I went to put more food in and it had quit working. Luckily I caught it in time before everything inside went bad. The green light was still on making you think it is working. After doing some testing, the compressor has a mechanical failure which means everything will test to be working but the compressor cannot physically operate. Since it will...

RDSWY4: I have had a couple of chest freezers and, so far, this seems to be the best one I have owned. I purchased the 5.5 cf model which is maybe a tad bigger than what I needed, but having the extra space has been worth it so far. I would compare the available space to appx 3 freezers above a standard sized refrigerator.

This unit is whisper quiet. It is wonderful having the temperature dial, drain plug and an indicator light (a green color that is not too bright) on the front of the appliance for easy access. The walls of this freezer appear to be about 4" thick and extremely well insulated. The lid is not as thick, but seems to seal very well. The unit feels sturdy and well balanced without a lot of extra weight making it easy to move if need be.

So far, for 3 weeks this freezer has kept a temperature of 10 below zero Fahrenheit with little or no variation and no noticeable increase in power usage. If it continues to perform as well as it has so far, I will consider it to be one of the best purchases I've made in home appliances. I can think of no reason not to recommend a Danby freezer at this time.

Candice: freezer arrived damaged -- less damaged than the one we returned but damaged. it had small dents in several locations. because we'd already purchased frozen items that we had nowhere to put (since the first freezer was so damaged it had to be returned which took a great deal of effort) we had to accept it with damage or lose out on a great deal of moneys worth of food.

kandoro: Mine had 8 dents. Six were major covering an average of 4"x6" and anywhere from 1/4" to 3/4" deep. On one side with the most dents it was VERY hot, indicating possible internal damage...

Definitely returned this freezer even though Amazon offered it too me for $80. Had the one side not been very hot I would have overlooked the dents. Also, since I would have to pay from $50-100 to remove the freon to legally junk it, if it went bad, I decided it wasn't worth the addition monetary risk..
