stevey: Bought it as a backup generator to bridge the time between a power outage and starting my generator to back up my internet (Starlink) and security camera hub.
Works really well, can power Starlink (with heater off) for about 20 minutes.
Haven't tried it with the dishy heater turned on.
Using the 425 VA but regretting not going a bit bigger.
Would reccomend!

Mansoor: Love it. It's slim and fits under the desk, has plenty of bells and whistles, and it works. It connects via software to the PC and can self-test, and keep an eye on your power consumption and the battery charge. Great buy indeed. However, make sure to check your wattage before buying as this one is not designed for big power guzzlers. My PC is midrange, so it works perfectly.

Susie Geissler: I purchased this to back up power on a Mac Mini cube. We frequently lose power in our part of Texas from storms and also a poor power grid. For years I've worked on a laptop and forgot the issue of desktops losing power and therefore losing work. When I got my Mac Mini we had a middle of the sunny day power loss and boom, work was gone.

Since I purchased this UPS we've lost power five more times, to varying degrees of length. I've been able to backup and save all my work without any interruption thanks to this product. I know it says that it only gives around 7 minutes to spare, but last time it was still on when I came back and it was way longer than 7 minutes. Granted, I only have the Mac Mini and the flat screen monitor plugged into this so that may impact how long you have before shut down.

Still, well worth the price and ease of use.

No one could give me an answer and since this unit seemed to be the smallest, most compact design for a larger 700 watt backup supply on the market, I decided it would do for my purposes.

I am writing this review not as an end use of the actual device, but to re-purpose the battery backup’s structure, it still functions as intended, just in a different package and I believe that customers may like to see how these units work as well as how they can be modified (yes, you will void the warranty)

ThomasBlue 🐕ThomasBlue 🐕: Due to the limited room in the cabinet I have to use a compact sized UPS. Not a problem since the equipment's nominal load is only 50 watts and a small capacity UPS works fine.

Originally I had a Amazon Basics 400VA/255W Standby UPS at this location. But its battery failed after two years use. I could have purchased the CPS3.6-12 (12V2.9AH) battery needed to fix the Amazon Basics UPS but it cost as much as a new UPS.

So I ordered the CyberPower ST425 (425VA/260W) UPS, with fingers crossed it used a different battery. Upon arrival I checked it out and found that it uses the same battery as my old UPS. Yikes, Murphy's Law got me again.

Some details about my battery phobia: I have several UPS units in my home. Their batteries last three years at best (two years is typical). Replacement SLA batteries are normally $20 each from Amazon, so it makes sense to replace them. But the adorable little battery used in this UPS is $40 (ouch). I suspect the cost is high because it's not a common battery size.

McGadget: I purchased this to enable us to continue having internet access during power outages. I tested this with the Bell home hub 3000 modem, the ooma voip box as well as a cordless phone all plugged in at once. They all ran perfectly for two hours and there was still power to be had when I stopped the test. In short now I know that i will have critical services for two hours or more. This is a backup power supply with no extras but is perfect for what I need. The first thing I did was disable the alarm which I find kind of redundant, when there is no power, I don't need an alarm to tell me that and I appreciate the ease of double pressing on the power button to do so once and for all. I have another UPS that I have to disable the alarm manually each time the power goes out and it is not a simple button press to disable it. In short, I like the simplicity of this unit, the protection and the ample power reserve for my critical connectivity systems.
