PSue: I use these gloves when I use a rotary cutter to cut fabric for my quilt making. I've had a few times where I could have nicked myself with the blade when I feel the gloves saved my fingers. Very satisfied with the purchase.

holly: Decent quality. My husband is a butcher and had a very serious accident at work a few years ago. After being on workers comp for 8 months due to surgeries he was very nervous to return to work so we've ordered these a couple times since to give him a bit of protection. They help to keep his hands warm as well which really helps as he works in basically a cooler with very cold meat. These won't protect you from a saw and you can cut through them. They aren't going to completely protect you, but they do add some defense. They certainly can minimize small Knicks and cuts.
