jeremy: While the Cuisinart CH-4DCC Elite Mini Chopper is compact and has an amazing base, only the bottom 3 cm (or 1 inch) gets chopped. I have to lift the unit and shake it to chop all my onion or anything else. Wish there was a bigger height difference between the blades so it gets things 5cm off the bottom.

As for the blade itself, extremely sharp and you must be very careful when cleaning. easy to install if you put the bowl in the base first, not easy if you install the blade before installing the bowl onto the base.

As for the bowl: compact, easy to dishwash, I personally had no issues with locking mechanism of base and lid. Just takes some muscle memory.

Leon Summers: I love the idea of this tool, and I use it a lot, but I'd happily pay 4 times more for it, if it was quiet, and if it was built to last a lifetime, like the large model. It feels and sounds like a battery operated child's toy made in the 1950's in Japan--but it's super convenient and it actually works. And I'm a manly man.

PFR: This is the best mixer blender made. Great for small items. Do not have to drag out the very heavy cuasinar. I bought 3. Gave our kids one and kept one. Everyone loves them and so easy to use and clean.

Roman Litwinchuk: This chopper is really great. It has a small footprint, but is really powerful. It saves a lot of time chopping. The only negative is that the chopping bowl and lid are plastic. Hopefully it is durable in the long run. Highly recommend.

Jongoma2: I have a small, appartment-size kitchen, and I don't do a lot of cooking. This little food processor is a nice adddition, does all I need it to: chopping nuts, bread crumbs, garlic, plus it makes about a cup of homemade salad dressing, which is what I mostly use it for. I've had no trouble with it, but the plastic components are fairly lightweight, and should be treated with care. Everything except the base goes in the dishwasher.

Dan: There are 3 important things for me with food processors or blenders:

1. Easy to wash - means as fewer parts as possible; parts should be without a lot of grooves and notches, as smooth as possible.
This machine has only 3 parts to wash: main bowl, blade and the lid
EXCELLENT 5/5

2. Easy to operate - there are 2 buttons: Chop and Grind - super simple
The only that I don't like is that I have to keep my finger on them to keep it working. I'd like to have it working while I can do something else.
VERY GOOD 4/5

3. Doing what it supposed to do - chopped a lot of different veggies, but don't press it for too long because it's gonna mash your veggies very fast.
EXCELLENT 5/5

Rabbi Goldstein: Normally, Cuisinart does a great job with their products (I own several in my kitchen). But THIS product is a TOTAL *DUD* !
The problem is with the "safety-lock" blade design. The brochure brags that this is some sort of new safety improvement -- that the blade can not be accidentally removed. Well, THAT's sure an understatement ! Each time you try to take out the blade to clean the container after use, it turns into a protracted STRUGGLE to get the blade to "release". It's got some type of notches built into the blade stem, that make it virtually IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE EASILY. This turns into a real headache and irritation, when using the blender often. I've used plenty of kitchen processors in the past (different brands),and assumed the cutting blade would just easily lift out with this Cuisinart. NOT TRUE ! Be prepared for cussin' and cursin' if you get this "Elite Mini Chopper". **I RETURNED IT TO AMAZON after 1 week**. I got a different brand similar small chopper (where the blade DOES easily lift out for cleaning). Note to Cuisinart . . . . this product is a DUD ! What happened?

space: I purchased this item to replace my much loved magic bullet, hoping it would have a longer product life, but the functionality doesn't live up to par. The only thing it can do well is chop. I also needed an item to grind coffee and pepper, etc. but the grind is not fine enough for this to be a useful feature. For salad dressings or any other liquid, this product fails. The holes at the top leak whatever is in it, so unless you want a huge mess, just stick with chop. Will be returning this item and buying my third magic bullet.
