Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor – Perfect for Customized Food Preparation

Jamerican: I need to say I had my Kitchen Aid Food Processor for 30 years, but it finally gave up the ghost so the Cuisinart is what I finally decided to replace it with, per the America's Test Kitchen review. So far, it has made perfect pie crust, perfect cookie dough, perfect cracker dough and crushed oreo cookies for pie crust. My only complaints are the spatula that comes with the machine. My old Kitchen Aid Food Processor was a squared off one that perfectly scraped the round bowl, this Cuisinart one looks like any ordinary spatula, curved and I find it useless to really scrape things out. The feeding tube could be a little bigger, other than that, I love this machine and feel I made the best choice.

John Skoglund: This is the brand recommended by Americas test kitchen. This particular model is easy to clean because it doesn’t have all the nooks and cranny’s that other models have. The capacity is great. I use it to make great pie crusts among other things. Appears to be built very sturdy and should last many years.

Kathy ChaseKathy Chase: It took me months of reading and watching videos to finally decide to buy this brand of food processor. I have not been disappointed one bit! I was really thinking I should save and get a Breville. But I made the plunge that fit my budget much better. I have made pizza dough that turned out wonderful and so fast. I make cauliflower rice all the time. It is so fast and easy. It's definitely better to try to have your floweretts all cut about the same size. I make butter every week which is delicious and fun and I make home made peanut butter that my husband loves. I also have used it now several times for pie dough and empanada dough. It is super fast and easy and has turned out perfectly every time. It is very sturdy and doesn't move at all on the counter while I make my dough. It also grates cheese evenly and with very little waste.. Clean up is pretty easy too. I wash it right after I use it, in hot soapy water and rinse well. The only complaint I have is that there are a couple of places that you can't get in with a towel to dry. But I have found if I just leave it out on a towel for a few hours exposed to the air, those dry completely as well. Also, I have found that if I dry...

Mike: I wasn't sure to get the larger size 14-Cup Cuisinart Food Processor (rather than the smaller capacity), but after using it a few times I am happy with the decision. This processor seems to be built very well, with a heavy motor base. The heavy base keeps the unit totally stable while chopping or blending anything you put it. The 720 watt motor is strong enough to do most any task asked of it. I found we used the 14 cup capacity more often than we originally thought, you can always process less food, but with smaller units you would have to do family portions in multiple batches. This unit comes with the standard chopper blade, but it also came with 2 additional discs with blades for slicing and grating. All the parts come apart easily and are all dishwasher safe which makes it very easy to clean (Just be careful of the very sharp blade!) The whole unit fits fine on the countertop under standard cabinet height so it is always ready to use. I just keep it unplugged until just before use. So far we are very pleased with this choice and it seems like it will last a long time.

DStone: First impressions of the machine are quite positive and I'll focus mostly on the build quality.

Build:
Well into the realm of "I didn't think they built stuff like this anymore." Very high quality injection molding throughout. The motor is well balanced: very quiet in operation compared to other food processors i've used and very little vibration noted. You can see forging and work hardening lines in the stainless steel attachments. No signs of warping in the lexan. Very good loose interference fit at the feed tube plungers. Overall the industrial design and workmanship of this unit is on par with Zojirushi appliances or Kitchen-Aid mixers.

Ergonomics:
I like simple food processors. This one is simple in operation. On and off/pulse with high leverage switches. Perfect. The locking mechanisms work well so far without needless faffing. I wish the smaller feed tube was a little larger. The larger feed tube disengages the motor so operations like adding tahini or other messier items slowly have a higher chance of spillage or require a spouted container. I'm suspicious about how easy it will be to trap gunk around the locking mechanisms. I'm also suspicious that...

Yeny Ross: Me gusto mucho el procesador, la base es bastante pesada para mover facilmente, supongo que es para estabilidad del aparato, funciona bien, aunque hay que usarla no tan llena, porque luego quedan algunos trozos grande, yo los aparto y los proceso despues aparte para evitar sobreprocesar todo lo demás. Los rayadores aun no los he usado porque tengo otro procesador para eso, aunque me hubiera gustado que tuviera una pieza para almacenar los discos y toda esa parte de los rayadores cuando no se usan, sin embargo son piezas que se venden por separado y a un precio no tan economico. En si el aparato tiene buena pinta, fácil de usar y lavar, y hasta el momento no he tenido problemas, he picado carne, zanahorias, betabel (que son duros), entre otras cosas y todo ha funcionado bien.

Sheila: I bought this food processor to replace one I already had. The one I had previously was exactly the same model and size. I have had three food processors in the last 35 years or so....the first one was a RoboCoupe and that company was bought out by Cuisinart. The last two were Cuisinart...the original one lasted 25 years and needed to be replaced because the bowl cracked. The second one, the Cuisinart one, lasted 11 years and the motor and everything was great, but the bowl cracked. I cook a lot and use the appliance numerous times in a week. It can handle a lot due to the larger motor, has a small footprint for easy storage, and is easy to clean. I like the bowl size of this machine, the size of the motor, and the construction of the machine. There are some cheaper models from Cuisinart that are made entirely of plastic and have very small motors. Buyer beware. I find the bowl capacity good for what I use it for, but I don’t use it for making bread as I have a KitchenAid mixer and due to the issue with the bowl I will not be grating cheese with it or using it for anything that creates quick torque on the bowl.
