Chan: We have been using Cuckoo for a decade, and have to let go of our 10-year old one due to old design flaws (not detachable top, its coating eventually deteriorated). We thought we could survive w/o Cuckoo by using the conventional rice cooker. After three months of using conventional rice cooker (our 12 years old backup rice cooker, Zojirushi), we realized how much we missed perfectly cooked rice by Cuckoo. Hence, we returned back to Cuckoo and there would be to return.

Good: speed cooking (within 15 mins, you could have sushi quality rice), perfect rice cooking (every gain of rice is perfectly cooked - hard to describe, but this is actually mind boggling technology!!!), detachable top for easy cleaning (awesome!!!), three language selections (not interactive, but I felt I could talk to this rice cooker), most of all, it could cook "NooRoongJi (burnt or roasted rice???)".

Things need improvement: Cooke's top could be fully opened very fast. When I first opened the top, it surprised me - no gradual opening, just full opening instantly. If you place your Cuckoo near the cabinet, your cabinet might have some nicks or dents soon. I have taped the phelt...

Otaku Senpai: I just used me Cuckoo CRP-P0609S Rice cooker for the first time and am very Impressed with it. I bought this to replace my old rice cooker (another brand) that was getting old and starting to burn rice on the bottom. As with any new appliance (especially high tech ones) I was a little nervous about using it for the first time. Set up was easy and the directions were simple to follow. I cooked Brown Basmati Rice(I always add an extra cup of water for a softer consistency) and it came out perfect. No burnt rice on the bottom. Cleanup was easy and quick. I look forward to many great batches of rice with this cooker. It is a great appliance and, in my opinion, worth the price.

I have had this a little over a year now and am still very happy with it. I have made a lot of rice in this and the quality it is today is the same as the first batch I made. I would definitely recommend the Cuckoo cooker to anyone.

Koala Balla: This is my first time purchasing a Cuckoo rice cooker and I'm extremely impressed. There are some minor caveats/things to bear in mind when you buy this, but TL;DR: this is a solid rice cooker and I haven't made better rice with any other rice cooker.

First, the design is sleak -- the back w/ rose gold goes well with most of our appliances, and adds a nice bit of accent color to the kitchen. My only complaint about the external design is how thin some of the platic feels to the touch. This doesn't 'feel' like a product in its price point; it feels much cheaper. I could imagine this breaking irreparably if dropped.

The built-in voices are fun -- being greeted with a little jingle and hearing a voice notify me of each stage of the cooking process is really nice, in spite of being more of a 'fun' thing than a practical one. The voice is in multiple languages, and can be disabled entirely. Again, a bit over-the-top, but it has its function of offering me the freedom to work about the kitchen without constantly checking the rice cooker.

This particular rice cooker is non-stick while avoiding the use of teflon. I do not have burnt rice stuck on the...

M. Smith: This rice cooker makes great rice, it cooks quickly, and thoroughly, and is the most similar to cooking rice on the stove than other rice cookers I've tried. I do add a little extra water than the fill lines recommend to achieve that stickier texture, but it works well without being mushy or soggy.

The only issue I've had with this rice cooker is that the removeable silicone ring on the lid has to be placed exactly in the correct position, or else it will not allow the steam to be released properly.

There is a removeable part of the lid that has a silicone ring on it that can be removed for cleaning, but after that is removed, there is a separate silicone ring attached to the lid itself that can be removed for cleaning. I popped it back on after cleaning and noticed that the next time I cooked rice, the water leaked out from the handles. When I looked it up online, I realized that I had installed that ring incorrectly, and there are markings that have to line up or else it won't function properly.

As long as everything is reinstalled on the cooker properly after cleaning, it's fine, but you just have to be certain to line everything up...
