Justin Lloyd: I have a large 4 person raft with a motor, and use this as an anchor when I'm near the shore. It works great.
It's very solid and well made.

Ronald W.Ronald W.: A Grapnel anchor is my new favorite style. Tried one as a test, worked so well, got a 2nd.
Our anchor locker is way to small for a Danforth. Dumb boat design for a 26 footer to not be able to store an anchor large enough to hold the boat in place.
Enter this anchor. Added 6ft of chain and a shackle and the anchor(s) bite in sand, rocks, mud and weeds and never move. I even bought sailing gloves to be able to pull hard enough on the line to free it from the bottom.
Where we hang out in the Detroit River big freighters go by they draw so much water from the cove that many boats break loose or spin around. Not us! The lines get taunt and the seaweed lays down from the rush of water, but we never move.
Glad I tried this! Stores well and easy to use.

NorthJerseyLiz: Takes awhile to grab in a river or lake but once it sets it holds. Folds fairly flat. Good for light weight boat use.

Dolmanet: Our old anchor for a 23' ski boat was just too small and we always struggled to get it caught on the lake bottom. We finally got tired of that, so we bought this anchor. We've used it about a dozen times now and it has caught on the first throw EVERY time! It's heavier than the old anchor, so it's a bit more work to throw and haul back into the boat, but well worth it. When you're leaving your spot on the water, run over the top of the anchor spot to get it to release - that's a LOT easier than yanking it to get it to release. Love this anchor and just wish I had bought it a long time ago! Highly recommend.

DoudouDoudou: Title is 5.5lb. But it's just 1.5lb. So bad.

Amazon Customer: I used it as an anchor for my ~9 foot long inflatable raft. It works as expected and I like how the spikes can be "hidden" before I pull it into my boat. It's not too heavy either as I have to lift it out of the water with my arms outstretched (I don't want to rub the anchor line against the side of my raft). I will probably get another one for the bow to prevent my raft from rotating in the wind.
