EmilyEmily: Circuit breaker panel is split bus. There is a 60A breaker on the upper (240v loads) bus that feeds the lower (120v loads) bus. Transfer switch intercepts the connection between 60A breaker and lower bus to allow generator to feed lower bus. Added two power meters to monitor load on lower bus at all times. Used an old time clock case to house meters. Made for a nice installation.

Kevin K: I was curious to monitor power usage of my traditional electric water heater. This device allowed me to do that. A 10 minute shower takes about 2 kilowatts (23.9 cents) of power. A fast 5 minute shower used 900 watts or about 11 cents. My dishwasher used 1.17 kilowatts or (14 cents) (of power to heat the hot water that went into it.) Two adults use about 62 cents a day or $18 a month in power. I discovered the hot water heater actually drew about 5% more power than it was rated for. (This is mostly because the voltage delivered by the power company was 250 volts instead of a 240; but this is within acceptable limits.) The water heater also fully "recovered" within about 5-7 minutes of the shower being done. Being able to monitor usage and know what usage is costing is one of the first steps toward conservation. This device keeps tracks of usage during power outages better than the plug in kill-a-watt plug in electric monitors that reset to zero when power is lost. Those are easier for smaller load items. All the numbers can also be checked and compared to both an amp meter, and your electric meter as well. It is much easier to use this device than turning off all the other items...

DACDAC: Using this to monitor output from a SSR that I control with a manual potentiometer. Works well and very readable display (see photo- taken in bright sun but shaded). It had gotten past me that this display isn’t rated below 80 volts. While reality is that it continues to work down to 58 volts AC current is still around 4 amps at that voltage and far more important to me than voltage so I’ll power the meter from input side of the SSR instead which will be useless for output voltage monitoring (not to mention wattage, PF) but will let me monitor current down to zero.
The split current sensor doughnut is very convenient.
I wish there was a little more room for managing wire impingement with the case cutout for mounting the meter because it is super tight wire clearance but I made it work without much extra effort.

Larry hicks: I got this to monitor my backup generator output. This is just a preliminary review because I just installed it and lightly tested. I use a interlock and backfeed a double 50 amp breaker. I used 1 of these and ran the wires feeding breaker in opposite directions thru the transformer to get cumulative amperage on both legs and I powered the device with both hot wires. This is rated for 80-260 volts if I'm not mistaken. Any other way and I can't see how it will read total voltage. It appears that order of wires does not matter because each phase acts as the neutral for return. This is what I did and it appears to have worked. I have not run my gen to the full capacity I need yet so we shall see.

Rexgom: I use this on the charger for my EV. It has been great. I purchased it October 2021 and the Amazon returns process won't work after 30 days (apparently).
The fault is that I can no longer reset the kWh to zero which is annoying. The clear command remains on screen for less than 1 second whereas it used to remain long enough to execute the reset.
I cannot find any contact details for Crocsee.
Is there a master reset process or is the unit beyond recovery?

I decided to buy another but it had the same fault that killed off the first one straight out of the box so I got a refund. It is a real shame as the unit when working is great and I now would like some more but am not going to keep buying, testing and returning until I get a good couple.

Dim: Warning on installation: This meter is not safe when its voltage terminals are connected directly to AC terminals or circuit breaker. It is not UL-listed or NEC compliant! There is no short circuit protection if board fails or arcs, and may catch fire if no additional low-current (125-250mA 250V+) fuses are installed externally, because the main circuit breaker will not activate before the boards and thin connecting wires burn.

Note: connection schematics is not perfect on Amazon page: the L (live) and N (neutral) are swapped. Terminals 2 and 3 are actually connected together inside, and with shown schematic the current transformer is at L voltage, it is better to keep it at N potential.

This is a digital meter based on V9811A power meter chip (those interested can see datasheet). It measures true active power, and averages voltage and current. It has an option of electronic calibration, but probably the manufacturer does not do it so the accuracy of readings are within 2-3%. It is a perfect device for monitoring power consumption of an air conditioner, dryer or electric range - any load that uses two wire connection to 120V or 240V AC power. It has one input for the...

WranglercowboyWranglercowboy: I'm using these meters to monitor the Grid Side of my Grid Tied solar system.

They were very easy to connect up & are quite accurate.

Dan Page: This nice little unit displays everything I want to know, voltage, current, watts, hertz, and power factor. And with the split core current transformer you don't need to cut the wire to install it, just open it, wrap around the wire and close it. I am using it to monitor the current being used by my well pump, but could be used for a variety of things, like air conditioner, furnace, fridge, freezer or any other major appliance. Another useful feature is that it displays accumulated watts, and will even keep the figure in the event of a power failure. I like it a lot. Only one caveat, you should be very careful installing this as you are working with 120-250 volts, and you need to shut off the breaker before doing anything, and also install a fuse (0.2 amps) on the line to the voltage part of the unit. Ideally, a certified electrician should do the install.
