Create Vibrant Galaxy-Inspired Tie Dye Designs with 8 Bright Fabric Spray Dyes

Mary Ann M.: We used this for a “reverse tie dye” weekend craft project (drizzle bleach over black T-shirts, then spray bleached-out areas with color). These blend well and are pretty precise for sprayers. Didn’t have any issue with clogging. Colors looked great. Some fading later but the kids loved their shirts so much that they are in heavy rotation! Will def use again.

MeadeauMeadeau: I love this! Super easy, super fun! Just make absolutely certain you wash your item first. Otherwise, the color will "roll off". I made this mistake. I still love how they turned out, but it's a massive difference. Photos are prewashed and after wash. I did not wash these prior to dying. I will next time.

Rachel: The media could not be loaded.  These are a lot of work on your finger, but look how cool! Bleach your area, wash/dry, and then spray in whatever color sequence your heart desires for a really cool effect! And you can sublimate after it’s dry and heat set!

BC: I bought these to add color to intentionally bleached shirts/designs. The instructions are clear the bottles tend to drip a little bit more than what I expected but overall the colors are really great. I will say that the colors do not stay as vibrant once they have been heat set and then washed. I expected the colors to be a little more vibrant, but overall I am pleased with this product. A little goes a long way which is good because there isn’t a lot in the bottles. Overall pretty pleased, but wonder if there are larger quantities that could be used in the spray bottles as refills.

shelley holmshelley holm: I love these colors. I have never used these before. I find them easy to use, but as you spray you do not get a consistent spray width or amount of spray. These are not for precise work unless you use a stencil or block off the area. I'm practicing for a street art piece for my teenage grandson. I need more practice! LOL. GREAT COLORS!!!

spiritofthewoman: 1) shake the bottles --SIDE TO SIDE--, not up and down. Side to side shaking mixes the suspension in the bottle without jamming a bunch of powder into the spray mechanism. I found it easiest to shake them up while all the bottles were in the ppackage they are sold in; just laid the box so all the bottles were on their side, and shook them side to side all at once, left them on their sides until I was using that colour, where I picked it up and gave it a quick side to side shake before each few sprays.

(This is common knowledge in the mixed media community where there are a number of products that require this. Didn't think it could be so important, but I've wrecked entire sets of sprayers and no longer have that issue.)

2) clean your sprayers at the end of your creative session. Yes, you lose a little product, and will be putting a straw of water back into the bottle after, but this is negligible compared to keeping your sprayer working the entire bottle, and even repurposing afterwards. To clean, remove the spraying appararatus from each bottle after use, immerse it in a bowl of just water, and activate the sprayer maybe a dozen times. This flushes out product...

Taryn EverdeenTaryn Everdeen: Used this set of dyes to dye the skirt I made for my prom. They were lovely and vibrant, but some colours were easier to use than others - some didn't spray properly and this led to some of the dye going to the wrong place. The green mixed with the yellow accidentally at the back and it ended up looking rather muddy, but it worked well enough. Haven't washed it yet, so I don't know if there'll be an issue with the colour washing out. xx

Beka: This item is wonderful, super easy to use, easy to clean up and went a long way.. Using a mix of wet and dry method I easily dyed 15 new born / up to three month baby vests, 4 sleep suits, 12 large Muslins and a Cot sheet and blanket with a tiny amount left over... Will be buying again without a doubt.

T. J. BakerT. J. Baker: I'm using this to dye canvas shoes to make myself some Pride shoes and it's great! I expected a lot of dye to disappear after heat treatment but it all stayed - you can see from the pictures the before and after - with the laces is after the washing. Incredible. So good friends of mine insisted I make shoes for them.

I suspect those who had problems over at Amazon.com with it washing out didn't heat set it properly - I did it with an iron then tumble dry just to be safe. Anything heat set like this it's important to get it as hot as possible without damaging the item. The dye stays, and doesn't seem to fade much. I think also you need to use a fair amount to get solid colours, but the spray helps that anyway. Harder to use the spray on smaller items like the child's shoes, I used sponges for that.

Only one thing - the pink looks a bit odd when mixed with red, it goes a weird sort of purply-whiter/lighter shade, fades a bit especially a few weeks later? When drying you can see this white crystals there, like a residue? I'm thinking of avoiding pink in my rainbow shoes as a result. Hence not 5 stars. All the other colours are fine though...although avoid mixing yellow...
