Andrea: This product works well. The steps are easy to follow. It does beep to remind you what to do next but does not leave enough time between notifications to fill the jars. Also the spout for draining is plastic so you have to be extra careful not to break it off.

Placeholder: What a fabulous addition to my collection of appliances! This has truly made canning in my ridiculously designed kitchen sooo much easier! I have a glass top stove that traditional canning pots really don't fit on and I was going crazy moving pots all around depending on what stage of the process I was in. I set this up next to my sink and VOILA! I can easily sanitize my jars and water bath without moving a heavy pot with boiling water. Extra bonus: it heats really quickly, AND the controls are idiot-proof (TRUST ME! If I can use it, ANYONE can use it!!)

bethea: If you do a lot of canning, get one of these. You set it right beside the sink so you can fill and empty it much more easily than carrying a heavy pot of water to the stove. It's even heat and bright and clear (with a vented glass top) so you can see what's going on during the canning process. One of the best things I've ever bought.

Apple momma: We have a glass stovetop so we were doing our canning on a gas burner outside! This canner is AMAZING! For the last few years we have been canning on our outdoor gas stove. We can now can inside and it is so Nice! It heats up fast! Has a diffuser metal plate to put on top of the jars to prevent boiling over of water we can put it on the counter and do our cold pack canning in our kitchen again! You can put 7 quart jars, or 9 regular mouth pint jars, or 8 wide mouth jars in a batch. Works great! My daughter is going to get one too!

Michelle DezzMichelle Dezz: Bought this in 2018 & just finally took it out of the box this year. I used it first to blanch some beans & couldn't even get it to boil. Online search told me it needed to be plugged into an outlet with nothing else on the circuit. Sadly, that means it’s nowhere near the sink or stove, so not very convenient. Once I found the right outlet, it worked (but still wouldn’t boil on the high setting, only on canning). It is still much nicer than the huge pot on the stove, as I was terrified to break my glass top. I will get a quote on putting the outlet by the sink on its own circuit for this. Everything I canned got a good seal, no problems. Easy clean up

Sam: UPDATE!!! I was able to hand tighten the plastic nut attached to the drain and the leak has stopped! I was able to can 2 batches with it and it worked perfectly! I love it! Changing my rating from a 1 star to a 4. I would give a 5 but instructions should give a recommendation on how to tighten that up in the event of a mild leak. No longer disappointed!
I bought this Ball electric water bath canner in early April so I would be ready once my garden vegetables were ripe and ready to can. I got it out of the box today for the first time and got ready to can only to discover it leaks around the drain seal. I am so disappointed because, not only can I not use it to can with, but I have passed my return window so I am just stuck with an expensive canner I will never be able to use. Very disappointed ☹️

Sandra: I love this water canner. I can use it outside when it is really hot and it's great for making a big batch of turkey soup as well! The lid doesn't fit quite as well as it should, but that does not detract much from it overall.

Amazon Customer: At my 3000+ ft altitude, water bath canning with this thing got expensive. Ball will not mention steam canning with this appliance, but all literature I've read says steam is hotter than boiling water. Boiling a fraction of the water (at a fraction of the time) and maintaining that boil upon the addition of bottles (because the water is under the steamer rack) makes all the difference.
Great steam canner. Zero seal failures for me.
Great investment after steam canning research.
Do your own research as well. I recommend this appliance.
