Jorge O.Jorge O.: Comprándolos en oferta definitivamente no hay otra opción en el mercado que les pueda competir, son muy buenos pedales pero recomiendo comprar las calas easy release si es tu primera vez con clips, te evitarán muchas caídas

michael stivers: I have been using these for over 3 years. At a rough bike park I had one pedal blow out a bearing. Keep in mind I hadn't done much preventive care before the failure. Lesson learned. I got a refresh kit and took them apart to get them going again. Problem was part of the bearing was stuck in the pedal. Some local bike shops turned me down on working on it. Crankbrothers had me send in both pedals and fixed them up like new, besides the physical scrapes and scratches. Two things with the pins, the opening for the allen key can get deformed and I wish they were thinner but that would mean a redesign for the whole pin. Not a big deal. I sometimes like to be clipped in and sometimes not. Great, durable pedals and super customer service.

Shaune Madden: I recently upgraded my mountain bike pedals to the Crankbrothers Mallet MTB Bike Pedal, and I could not be happier with the performance and durability of these clipless pedals. The design is sleek and stylish, with a solid and secure platform that provides excellent power transfer and control. The clipless system is easy to engage and disengage, providing a reliable and efficient pedal stroke that has greatly improved my overall riding experience. The build quality is also top-notch, with rugged construction that can withstand even the toughest trail conditions. I would highly recommend the Crankbrothers Mallet MTB Bike Pedal to any serious mountain biker looking for a high-quality and reliable clipless pedal.

C&A ✌🏼: Long-time SPD/Shimano user here. Amazon had the best price I could find on the standard spindle Mallet E. Fantastic platform quality, etc. The reason you'd buy these is the entry mechanism. There is a much greater margin of error to get your foot clipped in than the SPD. I've been on SPD's for 25+ years, and it took me 4-5 rides to be equally comfortable clipping into these. I will say that with the included clips the float is much higher, and take a more forceful and deliberate twist to get your foot out. This is definitely worth the tradeoff to be able to clip in, the feel underfoot when in, and the quality of the pedal is XTR/Saint-level for sure. I'll try the zero float cleat, and see if that helps with the clipping out. Only complaint I have (that doesn't affect the rating of the product) is that I was missing one pin on the left pedal. I was going to buy a bag of spares anyways but for a pedal at this level, QC should have caught that.

BradenBraden: This is my first try at using clipless pedals, so take my opinion with that in mind. I’m using them on a 2020 YT Jeffsy for all-mountain biking with Giro shoes. So far so good! I like that I can choose 15 or 20 degree release angle by switching the cleats between my shoes, and I can get 10 degree release angle cleats if I need to. I have them set up on the 15 degree release angle. I’ve been riding with them for several days on quite a few trails and only fallen over once so far. I do feel like I have better control over my bike and I love that I haven’t taken a pedal to the calf or shin since I went clipless! The pedals are smooth and quiet and are easy to get into and out of once you get used to them. Would recommend. I’d like to try some minimal eggbeaters on my other bike to see how much the platform on the mallets actually does.

Christian: I've had this for a month now, but will check back in the future for an update. This is my first set of CBs product, so it's still a learning curve coming from a Shimano SPD clipless set up. One thing to keep in mind is this experience has been with the 5.10 Hellcat's

What I like:
- Great looking pedal, the aesthetics are amazing.

- Easy to mount on your bike (not compatible with a pedal wrench btw, you need I think an 8mm Allen wrenches.

- Adjustable pins are a great touch, but I have a feeling they'll wear over time and be difficult to remove

- Gives a great surface area for climbing

What I don't like (Take these with a grain of salt as I said earlier, I'm still breaking them in):
- Even when clipped in, my foot has what feels like a fair bit amount of lateral play

- Cleats get scratched up extremely easily, and I'm fairly certain I'll have to replace them within a year. My SPD set up lasted over 18 months and show only slight deterioration.

- Difficult to clip in at times because of the rotating egg beater / mounting point. Even more difficult when trying to clip back in when on rough downhill...

Amazon Customer: I got these pedals for Christmas 2015. I wanted to ride them for a few months for giving a review. I come from riding flats on my mountain bikes and heard from everybody that clipless was the way to go. I had to give it a try, but I have watched my buddy "stop and plop" fall on his clipless often enough that I was a bit reluctant. I paired these pedal with Five Ten Impact VXI Clipless shoes. The combination of the shoes and pedals are very versatile. I wanted a pedal I could ride both clipped in, and as a flat for those sketchy technical sections where I often like to put a leg out.

It took me only a couple a rides to get used to clipping in, but a bit longer to get comfortable clipping out. It's easy to unclip, so long as you anticipate when that need will arise. The problem for a new clip rider like me is sometimes if forgot, and plopped over. That's what elbow pads are for :) I have probably fallen a dozen times due to my feet being clipped in when I came to a stop, and I forgot, and leaned the wrong way. All of those incident were at low speed while coming to a stop, not while riding. I have now been riding them for 2.5 months and rarely have...
