Our second Coolaroo umbrella in two years. Love the material the umbrella is made of but the pole and tilt button construction is rubbish. First umbrella pole snapped in some wind (just regular wind, not hurricane force or anything). Second umbrella tilt button snapped (see photos) so it is constantly in tilt mode and you need to get inside it and hold the top piece straight to open and close the umbrella.
Tried to find a way to contact the company (the Contact Us section on their US site doesn't seem to allow you to leave a comment or question so you can't 'send' the request for them to contact you). Altogether a rubbish experience of a rubbish product.

Just arrived and exactly what we wanted. This is a Coolaroo, which by design the weave of the fabric is wider than a standard umbrella fabric to allow heat to rise and not build up under the canopy while still blocking 95percent of UV rays. This also means rain will sprinkle through. (its a trade off, cooler under the canopy/rain filter vs warmer under the canopy/rain shield) yes the pole is also wider than the usual ... just under 2 in.. but this also means a stronger pole for breezy days. It did mean removing the old table ring protector but we solved the problem of possible metal on metal by wrapping sticky back felt strip around the inside of the center hole. This also will take care of the center plug for winter storage. We have not yet had any problem with the pole twisting mentioned by others but will keep it in mind as summer progresses.

Fabric is glossy, heavy or course in nature, which is great! Also the stem is quite thick! This stand will not fit a regular stand!!! Pier one is the only stand that I could find to fit it. It will hold up to some strong gusts of wind for sure! Very happy with this umbrella. I feel it was worth the price. Nothing flimsy about this umbrella. Nice to find there is still well made products out there without the outrageous prices.

This is the 5th Coolaroo product I have purchased and I love it as well as their ShadeSails! I am not able to be in the sun due to skin sensitivity. The Coolaroo gives me the chance to enjoy the outside. Coolaroo fabric shuts out the UV rays so furniture fabrics don't fade; lowers the temps under the umbrella/shade; provides a comfortable outdoor experience in hot weather for all ages and it looks great! Rated for wind too. Can you tell I love Coolaroo?
