The tension discs were rough and kept grabbing the thread, tangling it and making a mess. I’m replacing it. We’ll see if the new one is any better.
Edit: Amazon did a same-day replacement. This one works much better. It still winds too far to the top of the bobbin, which a finger can fix, but the tension discs now work correctly and it winds a nice tight bobbin.
My type L bobbins for my straight stitch Brother do not fit the winding peg.

I bought this as my vintage sewing machine doesn't wind thread onto a spool anymore.
It's very easy to use. It does come with instructions, but it's pretty self explanatory.
I didn't give it 5 stars because it doesn't wind the thread on very evenly, which is important. I had to guide the thread to where it needed to go. Not a big deal, but for the price I'd have liked it to work better than it does. Maybe I'm just cheap 🤷
