COLZER 164 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier for Professional Use

Michelle Jenine: Product leaked after 5 months of use and created a small flood in basement. Trying to work with Colzer on replacement but no response.

Kim T. Nierman: This dehumidifier is a very sturdy heavy commercial dehumidifier. We have a small warehouse and we had a lot of humidity. Probably around 90% this summer and our products were getting ruined. I hooked this beast up and attached a garden hose to it and drained it to the garage door and within a few days it had reduced the humidity significantly (like 12 gallons a day).
I really wanted the humidity to be even lower and contacted the customer service department. These folks bent over backwards to help me achieve my goal. They never gave up on me. These custom service people seemed to really want to figure my problem out. Probably the best customer service department I have worked with on Amazon. Thanks again for all your help.

To complicate matters, I have numerous aquariums in the basement which add additional humidity to the air. I've been running two of the local box store style dehumidifiers for months to try to keep humidity below 45% in this house. As such, my electric bill has been astronomical.

I decided to give this a try based on the positive reviews. This thing is HEAVY. Because of that, I think it takes some extra beating in shipping, despite the packaging (which is quite adequate). It really does take two people to lift this unity.

Mine came with some damage from shipping, and customer support was responsive and helpful in rectifying the situation. It was less a hassle to fix it than to return it for another. They were also very accommodating in making sure I was happy with my purchase.

I can't speak to the longevity of this machine, but I will tell you this - I went from having two typical retail-size units running almost constantly, to only this one running maybe 50% of the time. They trouble shooted with me and after that didn’t seem to work, they told me they would send us a new one! Should be here later this week. We added this to our indoor pool room for the winter and it's working great! We have a fan already but it wasnt enough for the amount of steam coming off our pool when we open it up in the winter. So we purchased a 70 pint dehumidifier from our local store and it wasn't cycling through enough air. We purchased this beast and it's so much better! The humidity is still high when the pool is open and the windows get steamed up but no more water dripping from the ceiling and the steam isn't so thick that it limits visibility like before. Very happy with the purchase and being in a pool room we just hooked up the hose and let it drain into the already existing drain on the pool deck. Amazon Customer: I've had this unit running in my basement for the last few months. Bought it to replace a 70 pint hardware store unit that died during it's second season of use. I live in Minnesota and have a 2000 sq ft, mostly unfinished basement that was built in the 70's, it gets pretty damp in the summer months, whereas the wood stove keeps it quite dry in the winter. I was quite disappointed when my previous unit only lasted a couple seasons, and after running this new one, also realized it was barely doing the job anyway. This dehumidifier has done an excellent job keeping my basement dry and not smelling/feeling damp and stagnant. It's only been one summer, but I will update review if anything changes. Noise level is not much different than the smaller unit, manuverability is fine on it's wheels, but it is like 90 lbs, so getting to the basement initially could be a challenge. The water collection tank is quite small, but could be used if you had to. I have the unit sitting next to a floor drain withe the provided hose, which seems to be the ideal setup for the amount of water this thing is pulling out.
