mary reads 73: I own several pairs of these shorts. They are a summer staple. I am 49 so the 5 inch inseam is perfect for me. They do run higher waisted and shorter in the stride than most modern shorts. These are cut more like shorts from the 80’s. They don’t stain easily and dry very quickly if you get them wet. For reference I am 5’6, 140 lbs, I typically wear a size 6 and the medium fits me comfortably.

Betsey: I was looking for a cheaper alternative to patagonia baggies (which I absolutely love). I was hoping these would be it but they are not. Pockets are decent size but they are sewn in so they aren’t quite as functional bc things still fall out. Additionally, my butt is just a little too big for these to be super comfortable. They are cute. But for comfort and functionality they only get 3 stars.

Micki Roseman: I had eyeballed these online, but wasn't sure about fit so I tried another pattern on at my local Dick's Sporting Goods. I'm a solid 2/4 in pants and 4/6 in shorts because I typically like them a little looser. I have started buying most athletic shorts in M for the extra room. All that background to say that the Small size in these fits PERFECTLY. I tried the medium on first and they were HUGE around the waist and not flattering at all. Because the material doesn't have stretch I was concerned about the smalls, but they were a perfect fit. Good room in the legs, comfortable fit around the waist. I'm only 5'4" and was concerned about the 5" inseam, but it is all so flattering. I ordered from Amazon to get the print I wanted. Very happy with my purchase!

bobby: There is absolutely no give in this crepy like recycled plastic shorts ... they might be cute if they had a little give or stretch and there is no lining of any kind I expected more from Columbia I won’t be buying again from Amazon ... seems name brand quality goes out the window when comes through Amazon ... they fit small and no room for error cuz they’re plastic

Paula Pike: I bought these shorts and the matching top. The top is a nice light soft material. But these shorts are a stiff cotton like material. Didn’t like it, so I returned it. Kept the top. If these had been the same material, I would have kept them.
