Mrs Bailey: Worked great to keep dogs from getting on couch. Did not have the same effectiveness when I placed it on the floor in front of the stairs. I have we hoping it would work like an invisible dog gate but the dogs walked on it without hesitation. I stepped on it while carrying laundry and also did not realize it was on. If I was rating for that application I would have to give 2 stars but that’s not the intended primary use so as a deterrent to dogs wanting to get on the couch I give 4 stars only losing the 5th star because it wasn’t able To be used effectively in other areas.

markTannermarkTanner: I will say ....I think for the money this product doesn’t (does NOT) do what it promises I have put it on all three settings and had it on carpet, tile floor.. I bought it to keep my female cat from going downstairs where she urinates on the carpet... and it is soo frustrating to think I had found a solution as I thought I did with this mat... I had hoped it would deter her from going to an area I wanted her to stay out of... she walks right over it and then it senses and works .... it doesn’t work on contact ... you have to rub your hand back and forth across it and that defeats the purpose of what it is supposed to be used for? So do I fork out more money for another brand or do they all behave this way? Believe me I have tried cat litter and fixed her.. she is just used to going in the house and it is NOT WORTH IT TO ME TO HAVE THE ANIMAL.... I would rather have a clean smelling home./basement.. any advise?????? Please help ? Perhaps I’m using it incorrectly?

BeeBo: When I first received the Scat Mat I installed NEW batteries and the mat worked pretty well the first day. I have two cats and they learned pretty quickly not to step on the mat. But it was not consistent and would only work intermittently. I tried it on the three settings and it didn't seem to make any difference. I returned it after 2 weeks.

Amazon Customer: This worked great! My cat stays off my table now! It's easy to turn off and on. I use it when I go to bed. So It lasts at least 8 hours run on batteries. You can put it on high or regular. The shock is like when you walk on carpet and touch someone. I keep it on a lower setting to keep my cat off my dining table. I think he has gotten the hint. Highly recommend it if you have these issues with pets.
