cplmac: This is my first dial indicator so I don't have a wealth of experience to base my review on, that being said here it is. First the magnetic base is excellent, the magnet is strong and the cam lever moves easily and positively locks in place. Second, the dial plunger moves freely but doesn't feel super smooth. I don't know if that's a big deal or not but it does work well. The bezel on the face can be rotated 360 degrees. I used it to check runout on a drill press and it worked great. Just got it today so I can't comment on durability. Would buy it again.

DT: Surprisingly well made & easy to use.

Amazing service too! Get this, after I had the tool for more than a year, I needed to put it in the case for transport. I couldn’t make it fit so I took it apart. Big mistake. I couldn’t put it back together!
So I emailed Clockwise for help.

THE SAME DAY: Vick set up a WhatsApp session with a series of quality photos and helpful interaction to put it back together. Plus - he sent me a photo of what it looks like when properly stored in the case. Whew, now I have my tool back in service, plus a photo of how to put it in the case.

David CottrellDavid Cottrell: This set is good. I run a kingstone heavy duty 30 and 40 and I only been cutting metal for ab 3-4 month now nothing crazy but ring grooves and all but I was teaching a new guy how to true up a 3 way block (16 x 16 x16) to put ring grove in there and i had step away we on the 3 rd one he put the block In and tighten the jaws down but the jaws didn’t set flat so when he went to jog it to true it up this 500lbs give or take block fell out and hit the indicator and stand ( not the indicator in this set but a 2’ one from my boss ) the base and arms/ body separated after looking at the block and all I looked at the stand some threads was done for but ab half was still in good shape the base still trun off and on and hold good it got some dings and all but still works like new.
the body could be made better the one nut lock don’t lock it tight enough to pull the base off of metal but still good. The indicator it self is really nice I wish they had a 2 inch one and different type of tips. But over all really well made great price my bosses was shock that it took a block and still worked. They did good and I would highly recommend this and I will be getting more of this brand in...

John Tucker: As the saying goes, you get what you pay for but that's barely even true in this instance, in my experience anyway. I purchased this almost two years ago and had to have my shop rebuilt before I got a chance to use it... Fast forward to tonight as I finally was able to test it when tramming the head of one of my mills.

The dial indicator freezes/locks up if it is used in any position other than vertical. It makes a grinding feeling in the hand so I'd say something is broken on the inside.

The little clamp on the end will not hold on to any of my other dial or test indicators as it is simply a hair too large in diameter when tightened all the way.

The fine adjust segment has a small amount of play in it so there is no way to get an accurate reading even if the dial was in usable, functioning condition.

I'd have to say to spend your money on better quality, regardless if it's a little more expensive. There is a risk that you may as well throwing your money away if you purchase this. It seems that others have a good luck with this based on the reviews but I'm not sure how. YMMV.
