G: Almost every chapter has an illustration to it, usually revealing the most important twist of that chapter. But someone thought it would be a good idea to place it BEFORE a chapter, not after. So every chapter is pretty much spoiled by the book itself. If I knew how to disable pictures on my kindle, I would do that.
As for the book itself, I am halfway through, so far so good.

S Steele: I bought this book because I didn’t want to read/hold ‘War and Peace’ around the pool whilst sunbathing. I love Clive Barker and have read a large selection of his publications. This book can be enjoyed by children and adults alike (bit too gory for young children) as it delivers the macabre in a beautifully written short fable. Please read google reviews because I cannot do it justice.

Jessica Carlisle: I know five stars may seem like a lot, but it’s less then this book deserves. I’m a very critical reader and normally can easily find things that a dislike about any book. But for this, there is only one. I wish the story was longer, it is so rich in detail there is not a dull moment. A ending is also very important to me as well, and this book tied it so well. I couldn’t ask for more even though I wish I could. I read this in fifth grade and would read it any day of the week.

Ethon O'Brien: This was a rare occasion that I thoroughly enjoyed a book I got for my son. This book is absolutely not just for children. The more I read the more I loved it. The story has a great message that everyone can appreciate, and keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the writing is superb. This was my first Clive Barker book and I will most definitely be getting more in the future. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone.

.

BirdieTracy: Ten year old Harvey Swick is bored. Really. Really. Bored. With school, with having to clean up his room just because his mom says so, even with the rain coming down outside. Eventually Harvey cries aloud "I don't know what I want, I just know I'll die if I don't have some fun. I will! I'll die!". This dramatic statement is just what it takes to bring a stranger named Rictus right into Harvey's bedroom. Rictus says he's got just the thing for Harvey's boredom- a visit to Holiday House. So off they go.
Holiday House belongs to a man named Mr. Hood who runs it but is never seen. The day-to-day things are, for the most part, taken care of by an elderly lady named Mrs. Griffin who makes amazing goodies to eat. Harvey also meets a couple of other children who are staying there named Wendell and Lulu who waste no time in showing him how Holiday House works. It seems that every day in Holiday House is like a year outside. Springtime in the morning leads to Summer in the afternoon. Autumn comes in the evening culminating in Halloween and ending with Christmas, complete with whatever gift your heart desires most. It seems too good to be true. And of course, it is.
I love this...

Amazon Customer: I borrowed this book from a friend many years ago, i couldn't put it down ! i have bought a number of copies since, as i have read it many many times ! Clive Barker is a genius, his own artwork in this book is a fantastic touch, his drawings of Harvey, Rictus, Jive, Carna and Marr just to name a few, drew me into the story even more. I actually met the original cast of one of his movies "Hellraiser" in a horror convention a while ago, Clive himself was too ill to attend, but he wanted to let his fans know that he is making this book into a movie. I have been looking out for this book in the Kindle version for a long time, purchased it as soon as i saw it! Buy this book, you wont be disappointed. Enjoy!

Not perfect but a great bike: Just a fun read. Nothing deep or depressing. Mostly based on children. The characters are well written and behave like you would think that a kid would behave.
