Really enjoyed receiving this unit, which was packaged amazingly. Installation was done by me, solo, but two people would have been much better and I'd recommend that. The unit is not that heavy, but wide enough that, for all wall-hung installation, its difficult to find the bracket flanges, without being able to look from each side simultaneously. I STRONGLY recommend getting a friend to help you. I was in a time crunch, working late at night, or I'd have done so.
Also, just as advice, the directions are about 95% clear, but the multiple screw choices can be tricky. I nearly used one screw in the wrong slot, but caught myself. The instruction graphics are good, but there are a LOT of screws, when considering flush mount, wall-hung, and pedestal base options.
SPECIAL INSTALLATION NOTE: In order to center the unit on my wall, I had to use the enclosed drywall ancho and drill preliminary holes. Be SURE to use the drill bit size requested, as these plastic anchors do NOT have a lip or flange at the top. I got a bit wild with my drill and made one hole too large and the anchor plastic is now taking a nap in the bottom of my wall void. This...

We looked at a lot of electric fireplaces before deciding to purchase this one. The chief reason we purchased it was because it could be inset into the wall. You can also hang it on the wall or use the included stand to put it on something but it looks best set into the wall giving it a permanent elegant look. It does not sit exactly flush with the wall, it does stick out about 1 inch with the faceplate on. The instructions state that there needs to be this gap in order for the unit to take in air to work properly. If you cover this gap it could cause potential operational issues or even be a fire hazard.
This unit also is powered directly and does not use a switch. It's recommended it be on it's own breaker so we installed a dedicated breaker for it and ran new romex. When connecting the romex to the housing in the unit, it was a little confusing because there was an extra blue and red wire which aren't mentioned in the installation instructions. In order to remove the piece to connect the romex these wires need to be cut. They're completely unnecessary when connecting the fireplace directly with romex so there's no problem cutting them and...

Package arrived quickly, on time, no damage, no missing parts no busted glass. Easy to assemble with a medium phillips head screwdriver in about 30-45 minutes. My initial installation was on the stand to check functionality of the unit. Stand is sturdy, practical, good looking and using it that way would be very acceptable. Ultimately I am going to hang this on a wall. I was surprised that the glass was not solid across the firebox. Instead it is a frame around the firebox. Looks fine. The touch screen controls are very nice and easy to use, set right next to right side of firebox. Came with Duracell AAA batteries for the remote, which is also very easy to use. Wish remote was backlit for darker settings. Flame looks better than expected. Plenty of variable settings to suit the bedroom I put it in. Back lights are quite bright, but you can turn those off when it's time to tone it down. I plan on switching to the fire glass media to give a more modern look once mounted on the wall. Fan does make sound, but it is not annoying and it moves the heat. In a 20x20 bedroom, at the far end of the house away from the furnace, it makes a difference. Power...

It does not have glass on the front and I didn’t notice that when I ordered it.
The side lights are a relaxing feature. Bought it in December and have it on every night!
