Annelies: I was given this book a while back as a present, and it sparked an interest in using essential oils for their health benefits. I felt I learnt a lot, as I was a total beginner. Having said that, it was the only book I had on the topic, and I had done no other research or reading, so I guess it was easy to "learn a lot", as I had nothing else to compare it to. I have since bought a few more books (Valerie Ann Worwood is excellent, in my opinion), I have read a lot more, have done a fair bit of research, so I'm starting to feel a lot more confident using essential oils with my family.
Browsing through the book again recently, I was a bit taken aback by the Wart Remover Oil, for example, which uses 95 drops of oil in a 1/3 oz dropper bottle (with coconut oil to fill). Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems like a rough 45% dilution rate for a product "suitable for ages 2+". I'm giving the author the benefit of the doubt, and assume the amount of drops are typos, but it has affected the way I see the other recipes. I had already made a number of the oils and salves before spotting this, and although they smell lovely, it does make me wonder whether they will provide the...

Kat VKat V: This book was little a disappointing for me. Although it does contain some genuinely useful recipes such as vapor rubs, lotions, facial toner/mask and a good description of essential oils, I do find that a lot of the recipes are repetitive and just a bit unnecessary (see image above..).
Also, she uses borax in a lot of her cleaning products which is actually banned in the UK due to its toxic properties.😬 This really knocked my confidence in the book which seems to be lacking a thorough research and done with a DIY approach (the latter is self-admitted).
