Carole Hartman: I babysit my one and a half-year-old granddaughter who is a runner. I bought one of these without the stuffed animal for my daughter 28 years ago and never used it. My daughter never ran away or let go of my hand however, my granddaughter takes off and I am not so young anymore. This works wonderfully because she holds my hand most of the time but if she pulls away she’s not gonna run in the street. I am very happy with my purchase.

AprilApril: My first child never needed to worry about her running into the road, she was always glued to me. Kids 2 & 3 are giving me a run for my money. Got Batman for my son as a toddler when I discovered he had absolutely no impulse control but wanted to be independent & running. He LOVES his batman “backpack”. He’s almost 4 and doesn’t really need it anymore (occasionally he has a bad day) but he was getting upset having to let his little sister use it all the time (she just thinks it’s hilarious to run into the road). I let her choose from a few different ones and she decided on the unicorn. She LOVES it, can’t take off into the road or someone’s yard, and they think it’s great when we walk their grandma’s dog and all 3 are on leashes. Highly recommend! As she says “it cuuuuuuuute!”

ChristenaRoseChristenaRose: I got this to use as a leash to keep my 18 month old safe in stores because she tends to run off. Little did I know it would become one of her favorite items she owns. She wears the backpack without the leash on it everyday. We take if off for naps and she almost immediately asks for it back on when she wakes up. I can't really describe why she likes it but she does and that's all that matters to me! It's become a wonderful comfort item for her. It's soft and the straps are all adjustable. It also has a small pocket in the back, but I've yet to use it for anything and neither does my daughter.

I will say I learned the leash being solid and short isn't very safe or practical for my kid, but I'm still giving it a positive review for the backpack part because my kid adores it so much.
