P. Thompson: This book had so much going on, some of it unbelievable. This is the book with the vampire summit in a fictional city named Rhodes. That’s all I even need to say in order to remember the events in this book. It was fun and exciting, and then it wasn’t. The last several chapters are devastating.
Again, a series to read periodically. I’d forgotten how good this actually is.

JKom: Sookie's life has gradually been getting more complicated, and in Bk #7 the tense triangle between Eric, Sookie and Bill produces some unexpected and unwelcome results. Harris gives us a full panoply of vampire politics, with enemies both internal and external. The relationship between Sookie and Eric foreshadows what's to come in the series ending. The after-effects of the vampires' Summit will shake up everything, even Sookie's small hometown.
Not sure if any other reviewers have mentioned this already, but I was intrigued by the introduction of the two alien bodyguards from the Britlingen Collective hired by the King of Kentucky, the tough professional mercenaries Clovache and Batanya. Ms. Harris wrote a short story about them (not a Sookie story). It's called "The Britlingens Go to Hell" and is included in the 2009 "Must Love Hellhounds" anthology, and is a fun read that is quite different from anything else Ms. Harris has written.
**Additional edit** While in the process of re-reading some of my older anthologies, I realized that Ms. Harris did a SECOND short story about side characters in "All Together Dead" - the vampire dancers, Layla and Sean. It's in the...

Phantom: I am half way through this series (I think, I get muddled with the titles but have read them all in order) anyway have just finished this one. I bought the first one on a whim and did not read it for ages. Picked it up when stuck for something to read and became addicted. I just love Sookie, not only does she have to cope with all the usual hassles of life: bills, house work, work and managing money, she is deeply involved in the world(s) of vampires, were creatures of varying breeds, faries and shape shifters. The books are wry, witty and scary. I enjoyed "all together dead" a little less than the earlier ones as there was a too large cast of characters and it was hard to recall where they all fitted in the plot.Iloved the Vampire politics and the idea of them having law courts and conferences. Like us, but with many a grim twist!! Sookie sparkled as always and her adventures are a real tonic to take my mind of the grind of the real world.

Mummy of Two: This is the 7th book in the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood series. I will admit that I only read the Sookie Stackhouse books as I had watched the television series however I absolutely love the books and now find the television series a bit wanting at times (although I still love the TV series). They seem to change the story in the television series so much from the books which in my opinion don't need changing however I assume they do this for a 'more dramatic storyline'. For anyone who is a fan of the television series then I would definitely advise them to read the books as they are so much better and go into so much more detail than the TV series can. I absolutely fell in love with Eric Northman in the series and if there was a 'team Eric' vs a 'team Bill' then I am definitely on team Eric! I can't wait until the latest instalment in the series is released from Charlaine Harris and I shall be reading it as soon as it touches my doormat!

Fel: This is the seventh book in the Sookie Stackhouse series and you can tell from the beginning that it has a lot of action in store. From book 5, we've been told about this big Summit for the Vampires and it's finally round the corner. A lot is hang in the balance in the Summit after hurricane Katrina which has a huge impact on the vampire Queen of Louisiana, Sophie-Anne's financial situation. Apart from that, the Queen is facing accusation from Peter's second in command, Jennifer, for his death and she will face a trial in the summit. And Sookie is yet again hired in the Summit to help the Queen with her negotiations.
When the group arrive in the hotel in Rhodes, which is where the Summit is held, they find out that Jennifer and the Arkansas group have bbeen murdered. And before they can investigate further, a suspected bomb is found outside the Queen's suite which turns out to be only a false alarm. The summit begins and it starts with the wedding of King of Mississippi Russell and King of Indiana, with Eric as the "priest"! Apart from that, Sookie also gets to meet up with some old acquaintances such as Stan, who has risen from being a sheriff to the King of Texas, and...

C Frost: I have just read this book in the space of a day and it was one of my favourites so far. I loved the love triangle stuff (or should that be love square?! Quinn, Eric & Bill too!) and it was good to take the action away from Bon Temps for a while (there is only so much that can happen in such a small town, surely!). My only problem with the book was that I didn't want it to end - I wanted to find out more of the aftermath of the events in this book, which means that I'll have to wait until I get my copy of the next one! I definitely reccomend this to anyone who likes this genre, so if you haven't started reading the Sookie books yet, what are you waiting for..?

Missy Carlson: In the latest installment of Charlaine Harris's award-winning Sookie Stackhouse series, we find the telepathic barmaid from Louisiana still involved with the world's preternatural community.
We find our favorite southern barmaid still living in Bon Temp, LA and still working at the local watering hole, Merlotte's. But things are looking up for Sookie. After having suffered a serious broken heart over the vampire-whom-we-shall-not-name, Sookie now has a new love in her life - Quinn, the very large, very muscular, and very handsome weretiger. She's also been hired to accompany the vampire Queen of Louisiana, Sophie-Anne, to the national vampire summit, where Sookie's job is to scan the minds of any humans in attendance in an attempt to give the Queen an upper hand in any dealings in which she's involved. Sophie-Anne's status is in a precarious position after having survived a failed coup by her husband - who, as it happens, is a very dead husband now - and the devastation that Hurricane Katrina bestowed upon New Orleans. While at the summit, dramatic events begin to unfold involving deceit, vampire politics, and yes, a visit from the fanatical anti-vamp group, Fellowship of...

FCS: Sookie Stackhouse is back to investigate all things vampiric in this, the 7th book of the 'Southern Vampire' series. Almost all the action in this book takes place away from Bon Temps and so many of the regular characters are missing, or take a back deat - even Vampire Bill plays only a tiny role as the action focuses on Sookie, Quinn and Eric and their dealings with the Queen of New Orleans, her entourage and some characters familiar from other books such as fellow-telepath Barry the Bellboy. A more complex plot, and the unfamiliar location give this book a different feel to the others and it is certainly darker and less laugh-out-loud funny than the earlier ones. I liked the broader character development and particularly the revelations and insights into Eric's feelings for Sookie. I came across these books recently and after reading all 7 in the space of 4 weeks, I now find myself depressed at having to wait a year for the next one!

Fatty McButterpants71: I think I’m well past anything that was shown on TV. Seems like the whole run of the TV show was based on the first book or so with Sookie & Bill and they just decided to concentrate on their story, but their story was really just a drop in the bucket, this series goes way past that. I like it!
