Jovan Spasic: I use this to break up corn kernels for my chickens. It takes a while to break up a sack of corn.

DonnGuy54: As other reviews suggested, this is an inexpensive item that should be ok for occasional use, definitely not for everyday or light commercial. But for the price I am hoping it will grind all the grains I need for my hobby brewing etc.

trevor young: The quality/precision of this grinder doesn't let you grind up fine flour for bread, but it's fine for coarser uses. I don't grind much gain but I love gardening. I make a lot of gritty mix for my potted plants but particle size out of the bag is often too course to be directly used. This grinder is cheap and really rough, but works great for grinding up soft stones such as pumice and black lava into smaller particles suitable for making bonsai or gritty potting mix.

Matt: Not the highest quality. Not for fine flour. Does the job for barley though.

James Vellenga: The mill seems to grind grain fairly well for my purposes as a homebrewer. I was hoping I could use a bolt and hook my drill up to it, and while that does with a bolt and the drill, the amount of power needed from the drill is more than my hammer drill can provide (the drill gets hot and smokes). While this may indicate I need a better drill, this is a quality drill with a strong motor. Hand cranking works, albeit far slower. Be warned that this style of mill sprays grain all over. The majority will go straight down, but a fair amount ends up on the floor. I rigged up a 5-gallon bucket with some slots cut into it for a piece of wood that the mill can attach to, I cut the bucket in half so I could set in in another bucket, and I used the bottom of the bucket cut in half to make a cover which seems to reduce the grain going everwhere and allows more space for grinding which is not available when using on a table top. I got the idea from a Youtube video. Hopefully, I can figure out a way to use a drill as it is much faster. By the way it is a M8 bolt that fits the threads. Second note, if you are looking for a fine grind like flour, you will probably want another mill, the best this...

MissMissi: I bought this grain mill to grind up chicken feed. I was having issues with my chickens eating the 'good' food I mixed for them, but leaving the alfalfa and peas. Now that I've been grinding up their food, there's been no waste and they've been getting everything they need to be happy and healthy.
I did find this a bit of a hassle to set up. The directions were clear, which was nice, but some of the knobs that went into holes to be screwed in didn't fit right. The hole would be a circle, but the knob to go into the whole was more triangular shape. It was disappointing to run into this problem when the mill was built heavy duty. When I was young I used a plastic grain mill and it didn't hold up very well, being made of plastic. Now that this mill is put together, I'm confident that the handle won't be breaking into two since it's made of thick metal.
My only other complaint with the mill is that the 2 screws on either side that holds the guard on keep loosening as I'm grinding up the feed and I have to keep tightening it every 5 minutes or so. Besides that, this mill has been a chicken life-saver and I found it to be well worth the money we paid for it.

Cris ECris E: After reading many reviews for many mills, I settled on this product. As someone who never used a mill before and didn't want to ruin the cacao (chocolate) seeds I had to grind, I was a bit concerned. I started with coffee beans and in less than five minutes produced a fine coffee powder. A few reviewers had explained that you have to start with a loose grind and tighten the nut a bit more everytime you pass your grains through the mill. This proved to be valuable guidance. Very few metal shavings appeared after the first run, but there were none the second time around and while grinding my chocolate. I like that it comes with the rubber pad to prevent any damage to my wood table. I attached a couple of photos, the first (close up in metal bowl) is of the coffee and the second (in glass bowl) is of the chocolate. The price was right and it came partially assembled so you feel like you only have to put it together, not build it from scratch. There was no oil or funny smells on the mill. It also came with a useful diagram and instructions that are perfect for first timers like myself. The hopper is huge and held all of my cacao seeds which yielded a quart of cocoa powder. The price...
