What's that beep in the garage? Turns out it's the backup battery for the Chamberlin garage door opener. After determining which side the battery was on (yes, guessed wrong the first time), I took off plate to determine what size battery I would need. Did a google search to see how hard it would be to replace battery myself, then searched Amazon to see if they had this part (of course they did). Product arrived in 2 days ... so, far everything is going well.
The HARDEST thing was getting the old battery out of this model ... all of the videos showed a battery that had a lot a room around it, and that just pulled out easily. With this particular model, no such luck. That battery was wedged in so tightly that it took about an hour to get it out. Needed tools, like a flat screw driver w/ thin blade and pliers to jostle it about. And swearing ... lots of swearing. I did NOT want to have to call a door repair person (at $200 min call) just to replace a battery. Perserverance paid off.
After all that fiddling, the replacement battery slipped in easily and the beeping is gone. I love that you can find almost anything on Amazon. Love it.
