waldo: I got this for a small shelf next to the bed in our motorhome, its smaller than I anticipated, but it actually a perfect size for me. It clamps on easily and is secure.

becky davidsonbecky davidson: I purchased this desk lamp as one of the final items in setting up my home office. I like all the features (flexibility, stability, versatile light color, dimming and brightness feature)... except one thing. The switch is located several inches down the power cord. Because it's designed to be clamped to a desk, this means that typically the switch is going to be dangling in an inconvenient location. In my case, the switch would be dangling on the cord behind the far corner of my desk, between the desk and the wall. Very tacky, but I ended up binding the switch to the stand with electrical tape so that I can reach it without having to find it and fish it out everytime.

Haley MullerHaley Muller: If you have an interruption in power or use a timer or a remote unit to turn multiple lamps on and off at the same time like I do with all my artwork on the walls. This unit will return to the last power setting it was set at before the power stopped. All the other ones return to a default setting and I have to go back and readjust the level of the light on my artwork every time I turned them on again. This is a huge plus about this unit!!! thank you for including this important feature in the design of the lamp. It should definitely be put in the advertising that the Lamp will return to the last setting when turned back on again.
