Cesar Millan Slip Lead Leash: Perfect for Training Your Dog with a Slip Collar

BobL: I have a 70 lb GSD with some major issues. She lunges at people who come to close and at other animals. She is afraid of everything. We've only done 3 walks so far but it's like walking a different dog. She behaves so well. Yes I do put the lead around her snout. I've paid over $2,000.00 in trying to no avail. Maugham: We haven't used it yet, but it did arrive in good condition and very quickly. Seems to be very well made. I think you can get very similar products at about half the price but this one seems to be very good. You have to look up videos on YOuTube for instructions on using it and an explanation of the "figure eight" application of the leash - but that's easy enough. It would have been easy enough for them to either include these instructions with the leash or a web address explaining how to use it. The figure eight application involves a little ring on the leash - I didn't know what that was for when I first opened it. So - a good training lead but a) a little pricey and b) could use a little bit of instruction with it. Finally, the video of Cesar using the leash with several different sized dogs is OK - except these dogs are already trained to the leash. I would like to see HOW they were trained to the leash.

Nicole spainhower: So far really happy with the leash, just wish it was a little longer. On Cesar’s show it always looks like the leash he uses is longer. However, this has worked pretty well in training our reactive dog. Definitely have more control with this leash than I did with his old harness.

GinaGina: This is everything I hoped it would be. Very high quality, sturdy, soft and smooth in your hand, with a slight give. If you use the techniques Cesar recommends this works like a charm. I have previously ordered more expensive leashes that looked similar to this, but upon arrival they were thick, unyielding, and just bulky. This coils nicely in your hand and if I keep myself in a calm, assertive mindset my dogs follow easily.

I have seen a lot of questions here about what the extra black metal loop is for. I saw Cesar use this lead to loop over the dogs nose (in his new show), and although he didn’t explain it, nor can I find any videos or pictures about this feature, I believe that’s what it is for. I included some pictures of how to do it. I’m not sure if we will need this feature but it’s nice to know I have that option. It basically turns the lead into one of those “gentle leaders” that controls their head more. I may need it for my other dog (shown in the background) who is very reactive to wildlife on our walks. It does make the leash much shorter obviously.
