stacey c: It took my goldendoodle 2 days to learn how to ring the bells to go outside!

Aaron’s Reviews: Our puppy learned how to use this in about an hour. This was a good and bad thing. She knows how to tell us when to go out, but she doesn’t always have to go. The bells hold up well even when she has tried chewing on them and it’s a nice touch to get two plus a water dish. I recommend the bells for any dog owner even though your dog will annoy you. It’s the best way to avoid accidents in the house.

Ann: The snap for one of the door loops broke immediately so I can only use the second one.

mnm706: I have 3 dogs - mother and daughter bichons and a yorkie. My yorkie is always great about letting me know she needs to go out. She will bark and run towards the door until I get up and get to the door to let her out. However, my bichons are not good about letting me know. I had started trying buttons. So far those aren't working. I started helping them press it with their paw. The most progress I have gotten is when I call my yorkie to come over to it, she picks her paw up and waits for me to put it on there and press it. :sigh: So, I ordered these bells to try. My mother bichon is a puppy mill rescue. Daughter was delivered 6 days after rescue and was an unexpected arrival. Surviving daughter was 9oz, the other didn't make it 24 hours and only weighed 3oz. Poor mama was so overbred. She still had two ruptured placentas in her. And, had to have all but 5 teeth pulled. We also discovered. After 3 years (in October), she still only voluntarily comes to me (can sometimes brave it with some of my family for food). But, she is easily startled. The first time I rang the bells to show her. She turned and went the other way.

My long personal story aside. The bells are great to be...

Customer: Disclaimer: Know that it is still your responsibility to take your dog out on a regular basis especially if you do not have a doggy door. These bells alone will not potty train your dog.

I love this product. I don't have a doggy door so these bells are very helpful in allowing my dog to ring the bell each time she needs to go outside. Sometimes it's for leisure and most of the time it's to use the restroom. We have had this product for over a year and it's still gets used on a daily basis. I left it on my back door for a few weeks and would still take the pup out to the restroom as usual. I didn't focus too much on teaching her to use the bells as I understand that it's still my responsibility to take my dog out/potty train my dog. Over time, she just starting ringing the bell and we would open the door for her to encourage her to use the bell. Now that she's pretty much house trained, we still use the bells to allow her to let us know when she wants to go outside.

Some things to note:
- My dog seems to be a chihuahua terrier mix
- I had been potty training my dog for at least 6 months before using these bells
- Accidents in the house can STILL happen...
