Ellen: Wow this is a great toy for the cats.. what a bargain compared to what you see in stores. Nice weight to it too.. it stays pretty well put even on our hard wood floors. I bought the light up ball separately and the cats just love that. Worth the extra few bucks. Endless possibilities with track configurations make it interesting for the kitties. Plus, you can buy extra track pieces too. This kit is quite large already so I have not yet gotten any extras. But overall a great product and excellent value.

Ian Thomas: So the first "Fireball" I ordered initially seemed quite good. It lit up when moved by my two kittens and they seemed to enjoy playing with it more than the original non-lit ball. However, after only a few hours it started lighting up on its own, even when not being moved. This problem got worse and worse until it was flashing almost all the time, so the batteries were flat after a few days. Then I noticed the kittens playing with something small on the floor, and realised that the "Fireball" had come apart while they were playing with it. The two halves are supposed to unscrew when you need to replace the battery, but it's too loose and comes apart when it shouldn't. I have since found other reviews here mentioning both these issues, so it's not just me! Anyway, I requested a replacement item from Amazon...

The second "Fireball" has the opposite problem to the first: it doesn't light up easily enough. It seemed okay for the first couple of days, but now it only lights up when it's moved really violently by me. During normal play, the kittens don't move it quickly enough to light up at all. At least this replacement doesn't seem to come apart when it shouldn't, so that's...

K StuartK Stuart: The media could not be loaded.  Ok, so the kittens love this ball, sadly however, it split in half after around 1-2 minutes of play, the small batteries falling out. (the ball itself screws together) So we screwed it all back together, and tried again, however the same thing happened. (You can see in the video near the end where the ball just breaks apart)

The screw treads just aren't strong enough, you can over twist it and it will break open, nevermind some play from 2 kitties.

I contacted Catit, and they replied, saying they had not had any other complaints about this product, however they would send a replacement, great, fantastic, it may have been we got a dud.
The replacement arrived, and we set it up in our Catit senses super circuit, but yet again after only a few minutes play the ball broke apart.

I contacted Catit again, to explain that it seems its a fault with the actual product itself and not just the one we initially received. This time they never responded.

I did manage a work around by gluing the ball together careful not to have any glue on the outside of the ball, using E6000, but i doubt i will be able to replace the battery...

Amazon Customer: DO NOT BUY THIS!
I ordered one of these for the ball circuit(from Catit!) to replace one of the (sturdier)green balls that we had originally (the battery inside the ball died). My first impression wasn't a very good one. The ball itself feels like it was made with a cheaper plastic than the usual green balls. It wouldn't "lock" securely by twisting the top. It broke open a few times so I had to get rid of it. These balls take those tiny batteries that you use in penlight torches e.g. so it's not ideal for your cat's toy to be breaking open and exposing them(they literally fell straight out!) :0 I didn't want to risk any of my two moggies swallowing a battery!

Cheaply made, potential choking hazard(batteries). Not suitable for unsupervised play (or rough play moggies!) Definitely not worth the risk with small animals(or children)

Rach 👀: Right, although I'd love to give this 5☆'s as its attractive & work with my cat, he want yo play with it, especually in the dark. However, my cat is only 3 yrs old, the first time he chased the ball, it fell apart.
While this function of removing half is good for changing the batteries, it comes away far too easily each time my cat tries to play with it & chase it. I feel putting tape around it frankly defeats the purpose & reason I bought it. It's come away so many times, there must be a weakness. So, although it was the one ball my cat really was attracted too & a great idea, easy to put batteries in, good delivery, we cannot use it right now.
It's such a shame as I thought it was great value & had good reviews but I think I'm going to have to pay more for a better quality & more robust item.

Shopaholic sisters: The media could not be loaded.  This toy has revived our cats' interest in the senses circuit -  Catit Design Senses Super Roller Circuit  this great toy had kept our cats entertained for weeks till the batteries of the ball ran out. Thankfully this ball is affordable (£2.49 at time of writing) and comes with one set of batteries to get you going. There are some really cheap sets of batteries on Amazon too.

The catties love the ball outside the toy but when its in the toy - they never lose it and play with it on their own to their hearts' contents - especially when we are too tired to entertain her. Recommend!

QuillQuill: Let me start by saying I've got two cats. Both male. Atticus is a year old (weighing about 14lbs - he's huge), Pekoe is about 8 months (weighing about 8lbs). I got this toy hoping it would entice Atticus, as Pekoe started stealing all the action on the feather tickler that was previously Atticus' favorite toy. Right out of the Amazon box I loved this toy. Their packaging was simple, clean, effective. And it's designed to be a toy too! (More on that later). As I unpacked it and set up the track, both boys were more interested in that track than the unexplored Amazon box on the floor nearby. If you're buying this... and you buy from Amazon... odds are you know how much it means when the cat is more interested in what came out of the box than the box itself. They both had fun with it for nearly a solid hour after it was assembled. It's been a few months now and they both still play with it periodically, I'd say probably at least daily, maybe for about 5-10 minutes at a time. It is without any doubt their most returned to toy (they have tons), and that is only partly due to the fact it can't get lost (like their beloved catnip mice).

About the box. The box the toy came it was...

Jerilin: 3.6 stars for how it comes. See below for how to make it 4-5 stars!! Two of my four cats will play with this. The third is not interested at all. The fourth is very interested but can't fit his paws into the holes in the covers to move the ball around the track. I have four American domestic short hair cats. Two are part Siamese and are movers and two that are stationary players and much harder to get moving.

I have the original catit play circuit (no raised hills) and the speed circuit. (Had raised hills) (both from the blue "previous generation") There are very few differences between the two that I have noticed. The track is longer than the previous offerings. (If only buying one set) However, there are many improvements that I wish were already fixed with this "2.0 model". I will list some pros and cons to possibly help guide your purchase.

Pros:
-The green covers lock into place (by sliding ahead) There is an illustration showing which way to slide on the covers on the covers themselves.
-Toy should interest cats who like stationary play and who already like similar ball on track toys like the Bergan Turbo Track or Chaser or the Petstages catnip chase...
