Jay: Had this for a while and its great, noise is non existent other than some light water trickling, only time it makes loud noise is if it needs to be refilled!!

cleaning: very easy and not hard at all, I try to clean it biweekly but even the times where I did not, the inside was not very dirty and the stuff came right off.

cats: my cats have been peeing a lot and their is little to no smell, they like to drink water from this. I have noticed that its easier for them to drink and there are multiple sides so sometimes I see them drinking all at the same time

LAAB: I like how much water this fountain holds. Our pets prefer flowing water rather than standing water. This is helping keep the cats off the counter and in the sinks and toilets for a drink. The dog likes it to and he is afraid of everything. Note that when winter comes and the heat is on you will find your replacing water a little more often due to evaporation. I found it a little noisy at first but I removed the centre yellow piece and it reduced the water noise even more. I would purchase again. Easy to setup. I have the filters on subscription purchase so I always have on hand.

Jheila IravaniJheila Iravani: I’ve used a lot of water fountains for our cats. I used a knock off brand, two harmony brand, and Catit is the most recent brand I’ve used and I’m sticking with it.
The most important reason why is because of cleaning. Harmony was a great design with easy filters to use, but it had all sorts of edges and corners that were impossible to clean regularly and time efficiently. I would have to get a q-tip to clean them, and the corners and edges got dirty faster than any part of the fountain due to the water flow being disrupted there.
The knock off brand had a circular filter like Catit has, but it was only carbon filtering, and for some reason the makers decided to put edges inside of the water reservoir for no reason, leading to the same cleaning annoyance.
Catit has no edges that build up gunk inside of the reservoir, everything is a smooth curve, meaning a sponge or towel can easily wipe away everything. I also like how the filter is structured, you can actually see the filter underneath the cover since it doesn’t cover it completely. This helps me know when I should clean or replace it without disassembling the whole thing. The filter also has...

I found this product had a few problems, but nothing that requires any deductions of stars. But I was curious about the massive number of one star reviews. (391-10% of reviews) So I started reading them. 95% or so had complaints about the pump-it stopped working anywhere fresh out of the box to 1 to 12 months later. Most often it stopped working after 30 days to 4-5 months. The other pump problem was that it was or got extremely noisy-this often presaged pump failure. I also read about the pump "floating" around with nothing to attach it to anything. Mine had 2 suckers attached to the bottom of the pump. It seems to me that someone at the company decided to cut corners and replace the correct pumps with a cheaper, weaker, very un-dependable pump. This same pinhead was allowed to keep changing the design so a LOT of parts didn't fit properly. Another big problem was Hagen's return policy (have to have original box) and lousy, rude and unresponsive customer service.
