Woldemarus: My kids use the same Casio for 4 years: it is still survived, calculates well. Even if a child decides to smash a fly or mosquito with this graphing calculator, it continues to work well after this. Highly recommended.

Chloe :): Packaging arrived damaged (the thick plastic covering) but product was intact. This calculator is impressive for the price, and very handy for sci and math functions. Very pleasantly surprised by the scientific notation feature, as well as the table feature. Manual is online so no need to worry if I lose the paper copy. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is the product doesn't come with a cable for programs. Otherwise it's a solid graphing calculator, better value than TI, and I would recommend!

Anthony: You’ll need to hack the calculator to display textbook-style fraction equations. The packaging is almost impossible to open, I actually had to burn the black plastic tabs holding the packaging together just to remove the calculator.

A User: This calculator is perfectly capable of doing anything the US School Standard TI-84 can and possibly more. With a mini USB cable you can load certain programs and basic games onto the device in a snap (provided you have a decently spec'd computer, anyways.) When you start the calculator up for the first time, you'll come across the main menu. This imo is a step up from the TI-84, as you can access most (if not all) of the modes and functions right from the get go. This calculator is also reasonably fast for a $50 graphing calc - it's either as fast or faster than the 84 when solving high school level Algebra and Trigonometry equations. Graphs take a little longer however, and there's no cursor like in the TI - Every time you wanna check the location of a certain part of the graph, it shifts and re-renders the entire section of your graph. However, as I don't do much graphing it's no big deal.

As far as build quality goes, it's on par with Casio's other offerings so take that as you will. It was fine for me, as I've been pretty much exclusively using Casio calculators since I was in middle school. The battery compartment door seems more secure on the Casio than the 84. It...

Doug Barger - Author: I ordered this calculator for a probability and statistics course and was pleasantly surprised
to find it has all the main features of the more expensive TI brand.

Important advice to students:

1. Make sure you read the "technology" section
after each chapter of your statistics textbook if your class has a book that shows the steps
for using a calculator. (Usually those are provided after the chapter content and either
before or after steps are given for using other technology for solving problems with excel
or statistics software.)

2. Look for "how to" videos on YouTube using the name of the particular type of problem you'll be solving.
For example: 2 Proportion Z-test

3. Don't get discouraged if some of the steps look slightly different than the TI tutorials if no Casio instructions are found
because every time it counted, after the first couple of steps were the same you could then see exactly how to follow the
steps using your Casio because the only thing that was different was the particular name or location of the button on the calculator
and the same feature is available on yours using a different name or button in a...

Henryen: When I first got this calculator, I had no idea what I was doing.
So, I'll give you terms that went on in the classroom with the Texas Instruments that may be confusing to users of this calculator. This way you guys'll not be as behind as I was when I had to figure this stuff out by myself and with the book (which came in super helpful btw).

GRAPHING
-------------------------------------
- When the teacher says "go to (press) Y= (Y equals)," what you really do is press the MENU button (it's grey and next to the big circle) then select GRAPH.
- If the graph doesn't seem to work at all, or the line seems really funky, First go to GRAPH and then press DRAW. After that you should press F3 (View Window aka how much you want the graph to be able to see) and then F1 to go back to the initial view window (where something will probably be). Use the arrow keys to move around until you get a good view of it.
- If you wanna see the entire picture because your calculator is zoomed in too much, first be in GRAPH mode and then DRAW. Then press F2 and choose AUTO. Note: this can sometimes be too much data to go through. Use the previous tip to set the window back to...
