Carlson Home Design Walk-Thru Pet Gate with Extra Wide Opening

Snedds: I’ve had this for almost 6 months now and wanted to review that this is holding up nicely. I haven’t taken it down since I purchased it. We have one room in the house that we do not allow the dogs but the cat can go in and out of this with ease. It helps give her space away front end dogs and feel more comfortable knowing that she’s the only one that can go in and out of that room. It looks really nice and is way better quality than many others I’ve seen. There is a big sticker on it when you first receive the product. I recommend using a hairdryer to get it off and it won’t leave any sticky residue and will fully remove the sticker

For marking the cups for a fixed installation, use Frog Tape across the jambs on both side....a short horizontal piece. Locate the centerline of each jamb and run more tape vertically. The 2.5in tap will cover the cups and leave you some wiggle room for getting the plumb line marked at the half way point on the jamb. I used a 4ft level to mark a line down the center.

Install the unit to fit the size opening (up to 37.5inches) and tighten up enough to get the entire unit plumb across the front vertical.
Use a torpedo level with a magnet back to adjust the vertical pickets across the width. Use a measuring tape to measure the space between the jambs and the first picket on both sides and try to adjust the those to plumb along that axis with the torpedo level. Once the door latches shut and stays shut....take something dark enough to mark the tape around the perimeter of the caps.

Remove the unit and then locate each cap once pulled off of the ends to match up the cap and circle. I use a scratch awl and hammer to center the hole to the cap through the Frog Tape. Once you've...

Brandi: I have been having issues with my dogs getting into the living room and eating decor pillows. My labrador is so smart she knew how to move the previous gate I had. So I went online searching for a gate that would be labrador proof. I found this gate and the measurements of the open wall were perfect, the design looked nice enough, so I ordered.

Delivery #1: As a previous customer review mentioned, they believed that their first delivery was a returned gate from someone else. I now think the same. I couldn't tell at first but the top of the hinge that swings the gate was broken, causing the bottom to fall low, so that the gate could not open and close at all. I kept thinking it was something wrong with how I was setting up the gate (because the gate has a natural gap when it arrives before you install it which comes together, so I thought it had to do with the gap). After some frustration and an overwhelming feeling of "how will I go about returning such a large item" and then reading other customer reviews talking about how their gates swang easily and they were happy with them, etc, I decided to request a replacement.
